founderETI empowers blind youths to become active and integrated

members of their society. We achieve this through four major approaches:

1) Provide training in assistive technologies and other life skills to overcome difficulties arising from blindness, specifically those

encountered when in pursuit of an education;

2) Introduce popular local recreational activities to encourage awareness, teamwork and independence among blind and

sighted youths;

3) Collaborate with companies to create internships that allow blind young adults to integrate into a professional work force;

4) Empower and aid the blind population to advocate for support of full inclusion and non-discriminatory behavior toward people with

blindness on a local, regional, and national level.

DonationsSara Minkara is a blind Lebanese-American on a mission: to get blind youths to dream. BIG. During her frequent travels between the US and Lebanon, Minkara noticed that the help she received differed between countries.

“You can help a person to help him become more independent or you can help him to encage himself.”

In the short run, it was easier to both offer and receive the latter form of help. In the long run, this was severely separating blind youths frrom their community and their ability to dream.

Through ETI, Minkara is working towards her mission. When will she consider her mission fulfilled?

When blind youths around the world can confidently say,

"When I grow up I want to be..."
