Eleven Activities of the TLUD Value Chain • 1. Appropriate designs and sizes of TLUD gasifier stoves without restrictions on copying. • 2. Bulk steel purchase and initial cutting for lowest costs of crucial raw materials. • 3. Preparation of “flat-pack” pieces using sheet metal stamping presses with quality

assurance.• NOTE: Facets 1, 2, 3 are crucial for Awamu to be a sustainable business operation. To

assure the accomplishment of all the other value chain activities, Awamu will lead by example. But Awamu freely shares or gives to others the activities appropriate for hundreds of small entities.

• 4. Easy transportation of flat-pack pieces. • 5. Assembly of completed stoves at or near the points of “sale”. • 6. Marketing and “sales” in small focused areas to utilize user endorsements. • 7. Organize stove-user-support within each market area for maintenance and secondary

sales. • 8. Establish multiple fuel-supply chains in local areas. • 9. Coordinate all of the preceding activities in order to monitor stove usage and facilitate

M&E verifications. • 10. Organize for carbon credit possibilities, the required verifications, and the

appropriate allocation of funds received. • 11. Ultimately fulfill the complete value chain, with at least some stoves priced less than

US$10, and available nationwide with money-back guarantees of satisfaction and longevity.
