Thanks for viewing the Eternal Alliance Runescape Clan newsletter, and current ranks roster. This newsletter is updated frequently, so please visit us again soon to see game progress and rank changes for our players. We will post information from our forums here, too.

Event Participation was reset to zero for everyone on October 1st. Inactive players will be removed from the roster on January 1st, 2011. Please be sure to let Sil Eternal know who attends your events when you host them. Demotions have reduced a lot of active people to the rank of Recruit for not participating. Event participation is required for rank. To keep your rank and gain higher rank, keep training steadily and host or attend 1 event every 60 days. Those who do not maintain changing minimum requirements will be reduced to next lower rank.

RUNESCAPE SECURITY TIPSRunescape only allows lowercase letters and numbers in your password, so the security is pretty weak no

matter what you do. Here are a few tips to help you slow down hackers a bit:

1) Set your password to 15 or more characters. Anything less can be hacked in a few hours. 15 characters with just letters and numbers takes a few months. Here's a random password generator (Generate 20 or more and pick one): http://www.pctools.com/guides/password/

2) Be sure you don't have any words from any language in your password. Hackers can access your account very fast if any portion is in a dictionary.

3) Change your password every 60 days, no matter what.

4) Register your email account with your Runescape Account so you can get your character back if hacked.

5) Set your PIN number to keep hackers from looting your account, and bank expensive items before you logout.

6) Don't enter your username and password into any cheat tools or game play tools for Runescape not provided by Jagex. While they claim they're helping you, most intend to steal your account, or sell your login to hackers.

RUNESCAPE SMITHING TIPS

Robin Zoro33 asked for suggestions on improving smithing levels in F2P and complimented me upon achieving Level 85 smithing.

Thanks, Robin! It took a long time to get there, and it was mostly smelting and smithing items. A few quests give smithing XP, too. Steel is the fastest to mine iron and coal for and smelting. Iron wastes more than half of your iron ore in the long run due to failed efforts. Anything better than steel gives great XP, but it is slower because more coal per bar is required.
