Using google and ask.com, I found some interesting information about the terms in assignment 2.2.

Those terms are Web 2.0 tools and applications, collaborative technologies, emerging technologies,

and social media. It was a little hard to begin my research because I didn’t know what to find or where

to begin. Now I’ll show you all the information that I found and my review about them.

Collaborative Technologies

definition of collaborative technologies. Those technologies allow people who are not at the same

place interact and work together. It also shows me some examples of collaboration tools like RSS,

WIKIS, GOOGLE groups, etc. That site gives me the basis knowledge about collaboration. AMRCC

AT_ARE_COLLABORATION_TECHNOLOGIES_ gives me more detail about collaboration

technologies and its advantages. I also introduces some softwares that allow us co collaborate and

information about the systems which are able to do that. Personally I learned a lot of new

information from this site. Now I know how those technologies can apply in real action not just

theory. They can really save a lot of time and money for people who work far away from each other.

Emerging TechnologiesWikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerging_technologies gives me the basis information about

Emerging Technologies. First I learned what it is about. What fields it belong to and more information which give me an idea about it. Wikipedia gives me some more links if I want to do more research on this. And I found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_emerging_technologies it's the list of emerging technologies.

This page consists of all fields that Emerging technologies include on energy technologies, transportation, IT, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics etc. I'm surprised about what I found in that

page. Because I didn't even know that Emerging Technologies covers that many areas.

Social Mediahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_media. I learned that social media is the kind of media which is spread out by social interaction. Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social media as "a group of Internet-

based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0 and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content". Now I know what social media is and its common forms.

This wiki page also shows me about social media's components (concept, media, and social interface).

Web 2.0 tools and applicationsThis page showed up in the first place http://www.go2web20.net/ this is the directory of web 2.0 app and tools. All of the web sites listed here are using web 2.0 technologies to run them. Through this site, I can

know whether a site is a web 2.0 site or not just by typing the address in the search box. An other interest page that I found for thiss page is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0. In this page I'm not only getting to

know about web 2.0 app and tools but I also learn new things about history of web 2.0 and many other things. This is a really useful page if you want to do research on web 2.0.

I spent a lot of time on this essay. There are a lot of things that are new to me too. I've never know those things before. And also there are a lot of words that I can't understand so it slowed me down a little ( because I have to look them up in the dictionary). I think I'm not good at doing research I did find some information but I

think I could have found more if I knew how to do it.
