This meeting is an initiative of ISRO and IAEA to exchange information with national or regional societies or organizations on rationale for Quality Assurance (QA), Experience on current status of Quality Control (QC) procedures for equipement and QC of patient irradiation and the implementation of QA program- mesat the institutional, regional and international levels. The role of networks will be analyzed. The conclusion of the discussions should lead to consensusstatementsand recommendations. lo-12 May 1995 Annpal Brachytherapy Meeting GEC-ESTRO, York, UK. The first day of this jointly organ&d meeting features a workshop on brachytherapy in breast cancer. The second day is devoted to a CNS sessionand specification of doses and volumes. The third day is reserved to free communications. 8-11 October 1995 Third Biennial Physics Meeting, Gardone Riviera, Italy. A separate ESTRO Radiation Physics meeting is organized in odd calendar years. It will include teaching sessions, symposia and proffered paper sessions on the following topics: beamoptimization algorithms in inverse treatment planning, evaluation of conformal therapy and dose planning techniques, multi- leaf and dynamic collimation: control, simulation and quality assurance, proton therapy: dosimetry and comparative planning stud- ies, dosimetry and treatment planning in brachytherapy, radiation dosimetry using plane-parallel ionization chambers, status of NW-based ionization chamber dosimetry in Europe, absolute dosimetry in referenceand non-reference conditions, radiobiological modelling, status of Monte-Carlo treatment planning, spectra and beam quality of therapeutic beams, quality assurance in radiotherapy, margins in radiotherapy and dose-planning, 3D planning systems and special treatment techniques, CT/MRI/SPECT in treatment planning, portal imaging (companies will also be invited). The meeting will be preceeded by a workshop on ‘Monitor unit calculation and verification for therapy machines’. 29 October-2 November 1996 ESTRO 14/ECCO8, Paris, France 13-15 May 1996 Annual Brachytherapy Meeting GEC-ESTRO-AER, Tours, France.
