Essentials For a Review Page
By Jackson Davis
The Film Title
• It sounds daft, but we can’t forget it• If you mention it a lot too, people will remember the film
name. This can help with marketing and so on.
Keep the review even sided
• We are obviously the ones writing this review• We are aware of the faults. It’s a low budget film, not
everything will be perfect• If the entire article is single-sided it will make it boring
and seem like we think our film is perfect
Images
• The review is going to be written• However, we need to give the audience something to
look at• Adding images (e.g. Behind the Scenes, Film Stills etc.)
can really help to make the layout look more interesting
Layout
• We want the article to be easy to read• Size 26 font and centre text alignment won’t do the
trick• A nice small, but easy to read font size and justified text
will help to make the article more aesthetically pleasing• Sorting into columns is the traditional layout, this can
help to break up text too, especially when adding images in
Coordination
• I love coordination• Since we are making the review page as well as the Film
and Poster, we might as well take advantage of the fact that we have full control• Sticking to the same typefaces (or at least similar),
using the same colour schemes and using relevant images can really help to keep things looking how they should
Conclusion
• That is just a couple of things that I feel are important for this part of the production• David is taking care of the film review page, I’m sure he
will focus on these point when creating the piece
