History Students should revise for paper 1 using the text books. From the textbook entitled International Relations: Conflict and Peace in the 20th Century The topics are - Chapter 1; The origins of WWI Chapter 2;, Peacemaking 1918-19 and the League of Nations Chapter 3; Hitler’s foreign policy and the origins of WWII. From the textbook entitled Twentieth Century Depth Studies Chapter 3; The Roaring 20s Chapter 5; Hitler’s Germany Chapter 7; Race relations in the USA, 1955-68. Mrs Best’s top tips: The best way of revising for History is to get someone to test you on your facts. You need to know Exam Technique and Facts. If time management is a problem, you should practice timed exam questions. Reading through notes is not enough, you need to read and understand the notes, then write down bullet points or learn rhymes to remember the facts, say the facts out loud and then practice an exam question applying the facts.

Drama

Drama students all have the exam paper and are working in class on ideas for their pieces.

At home, they should be discussing the paper with their parents and writing down as many

ideas as possible for their exam piece. They need to bring in these ideas to class after half term

and they will begin working on their chosen idea during the first week in March.

They will perform to the examiner on 1 April. All parents have been sent the exam lesson

timetable with dates and times for all lessons.

All drama students already have a specially made booklet which helps them understand the

exam paper and gives suggestions for some of the themes.

Those drama students who are designing or writing for their final exam should now be spending

time researching their chosen design areas and looking at paintings from the 1750s to gauge

fashion/make up/hair/furniture of the time.

Anyone writing should be spending time planning their ideas and checking how their ideas link

back in depth to the stimulus of the script or the painting (both items on the exam paper).
