WILF: Sharing the total amount of objects equally into groups. Sharing Objects Use activity 1 stencil to share the bones between the dogs. Draw the amount of bones each dog should have and record the number of bones each dog gets in the box provided. Draw the amount of fish each seal should have and record the number of fish each seal gets in the box provided. Draw the amount of beetles each leaf would hold and record the number of beetles on each leaf in the box provided. Answer the questions at the bottom of the stencil by using any items around the house. You may draw your sharing into groups or take photos of your work. 2. WALT: Sequence events in order using everyday language. WILF: Use terms such as morning, afternoon and night to sequence events in the day in correct order. Sequencing Events Draw pictures to show what you did yesterday. Use the activity 2 stencil and draw the events of your day in order. Label the top box with the word morning and draw a picture of something you did in the morning. Label the middle box with the word afternoon and draw a picture of something you did in the afternoon. Label the bottom box with the word night time and draw a picture of something you did in the night time. Ask an adult to write what you have drawn (e.g. eating breakfast) if you are not able to try sounding it out yourself. Or if you upload to Seesaw you could use the voice comments to describe your drawings. 3. WALT: Describe position using everyday language. WILF: describe the position of an object in relation to another object using everyday language, such as 'between', 'next to', 'behind' or 'inside'. Describing position Pick a teddy bear or toy and place it in at least 4 different positions around your house e.g. ON TOP of the table, UNDER the chair, BEHIND the lounge, IN FRONT of the TV. Draw a picture for each position your teddy has been in. Make sure you label each picture with words like on top of, behind, next to, between, under. You can use activity 3 stencil to help set out your work. 4. WALT: Record numbers 1-20 and identify the matching quantity. WILF: Numbers 1-20 are written correctly and that the number of objects drawn matches the number. Number Recognition & Recording Practise writing the numbers 1-20. Write the numbers down the side of your page and draw a picture of any object you like to match. For example, next to the number 1, you might draw 1 ball. Next to the number 3, you might draw 3 pencils. Next to the number 14, you might draw 14 circles. 5. WALT: To create or continue a repeating pattern. WILF: Repeating patterns to be created using household items or drawings. Creating Patterns Find 2 types of toys that you have (eg. Lego, matchbox cars). Line your toys up in a repeating pattern. For example 1 piece of lego, 1 car, 1 piece of lego, 1 car. Now try making a repeating pattern with colours. For example, 1 blue piece of lego, 1 green piece of lego, 1 blue piece of lego, 1 green piece of lego. How many repeating patterns can you make? Challenge – See if you can make a harder pattern eg. 2 yellow lego, 1 blue lego, 2 yellow lego, 1 blue lego. Please make 4 different patterns and record them. Draw the patterns you make or take photos of the patterns you make.

WALT: We Are Learning To WILF: What I’m Looking For
1. WALT: Share items equally.
Number Recognition & Recording
Practise writing the numbers 1-20.

6. WALT: Identify missing numbers. WILF: Correctly identify which numbers are missing in the grid. Missing Numbers Read the numbers in the grid. The empty boxes are missing their number. Use your counting skills or your knowledge of before and after numbers to identify the missing number. Write the missing number in the correct box. Complete this on activity 6 stencil.
7. WALT: To combine and add two groups to model addition. WILF: Solve the addition problems using counting on strategies or the use of concrete materials. Addition Solve the addition (plus) problems on activity 7 stencil. To solve these questions you can use the strategy you find most comfortable. For example
- Using objects to help (1 toy car + 8 toy trucks) and count the total amount of objects
- Counting on (put the big number in your head and count on from that)
- Drawing pictures of the two groups to find the total.
8. WALT: Identify & name 2D shapes. WILF: Finding and colouring the correct 2D shapes. Finding squares, triangles, rectangles, ovals and circles and colouring them the correct colour. 2D Shapes Complete activity stencil. You will need to find the squares in the top row and colour them blue. Triangles in the next row and colour them red. Rectangles in the next row and colour them green. Ovals in the next row and colour them orange. Circles in the last row and colour them pink.
9. WALT: Model subtraction by taking away part of a group. WILF: Solve the subtraction problems using a range of strategies. Subtraction Solve the subtraction (take away) problems on activity 9 stencil. To solve these questions you can use the strategy you find most comfortable. For example
- Using objects to help (10 toy cars – 2 toy cars) and count the total amount of objects
- Counting backwards from 10
- Drawing pictures of the two groups to find the total.
- Using your knowledge of ‘Friends to 10’
10. WALT: Group items and identify/count how many groups there are. WILF: Objects grouped into equal amounts and identify how many groups of how many objects. Grouping Objects Use activity 10 stencil to complete the questions. Circle the objects into the groups of labelled on the sheet and record how many groups. Count how many items are in each group and finish the number sentences ‘__ groups of __ pencils’ and ‘__ groups of __ balloons. Complete the questions at the bottom of the page by using some household items. You can record your answers by drawing the groupings of taking photos.

11. WALT: Recognise that halves are two equal parts. WILF: Identify and colour in one half on an object. Finding Half Halves are two equal parts. Different shapes and objects can be cut into halves in different ways. Practice drawing some simple shapes like circles, squares and triangles. Then draw a line through these to make halves. Complete activity 11 stencil by finding and colouring in half of each shape.
12. (must do activity) WALT: Put two numbers together to make 10 WILF: Creating and recognising combinations of numbers that make 10 Friends to 10 Practice your friends to 10. You can use your fingers to help you if you get stuck. On the attached worksheet create some ‘Friends to 10’. For example if I wanted to show 7 and 3 as friends to 10, in one ten frame I would colour 7 yellow boxes and 3 red boxes. Record the friends to 10 you made as well (e.g 7 + 3 = 10)
13. WALT: Read and use ordinal names of numbers. WILF: Reading and using ordinal numbers to describe the order of the objects. Ordinal Numbers Collect 5 toys or items. Place them in a straight line in order. The item on the left is 1st, the next is 2nd, the next is 3rd, then 4th and the last item would be 5th. Change the order of the objects and then try giving them their new ordinal number. Remember it’s like winning a race, who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Once you feel like you’ve got the hang of this, move onto activity stencil 13.
14. WALT: Read numbers and count the amount of objects to match WILF: Towers that are built to match the number recorded. Building Towers Choose 4 numbers to build as your towers (for example, 5, 7, 11 and 3) Take turns to roll a dice and use the number of bricks to build up your towers. Towers can be built up in any way you choose. Take turns to build up your towers until one player gets the exact roll to complete the last tower. You can also play this in reverse. Talk about how many you have, how many more you need, what strategies you used, etc. Click on the link or enter the link to watch a video to explain how to play https://rb.gy/viii1p
15. WALT: Model subtraction by taking away part of a group. WILF: Solve the subtraction problem and use drawings to record your thinking. Number Story
I had 5 donuts then I ate 3. How many donuts do I have now?
Draw a picture to show this subtraction story and then write your answer as:
___ donuts take away ___ donuts. Now I have ___ donuts left.

16. WALT: To develop our number sense. WILF: To talk about the relationships between numbers. Guess My Number Write the numbers from 1 to 10 (for example) on a piece of paper or use cards to set the number range. For example, this student chose to use the numbers between 1 and 8. Ask someone at home (the ‘secret holder’) to choose a secret number within your given range. Guess the ‘secret' holder’s number. They will tell you whether their number is greater or less than your guess. Try to guess the secret number in the fewest number of guesses possible, or, with only 3 guesses Number cards to 12 have been added as a support material. Click on the link or enter the link to watch a video to explain how to play https://rb.gy/uzhsyv
17. WALT: To combine and add two groups to model addition. WILF: Solve the addition problems using counting on strategies or the use of concrete materials. Addition Solve the addition problems on activity 7 stencil. To solve these questions you can use the strategy you find most comfortable. For example
- Using objects to help (1 toy car + 8 toy trucks) and count the total amount of objects
- Counting on (put the big number in your head and count on from that)
- Drawing pictures of the two groups to find the total.
18. (must do activity) WALT: Identify missing numbers. WILF: Correctly identify which numbers are missing in the grid. Missing Numbers Read the numbers in the grid. The empty boxes are missing their number. Use your counting skills or your knowledge of before and after numbers to identify the missing number. Write the missing number in the correct box. Complete this on activity 18 stencil.
19. WALT: Identify & name 2D shapes. WILF: Identify 2D shapes around your house and record them. 2D Shapes It’s time to go on a shape hunt! Look around your house, backyard, front yard etc to find 4 different 2D shapes. You are looking for circles, triangles, squares and rectangles. See how many of each shape you can find and try your best drawing them in the correct box. Complete this activity on activity 19 stencil
20. WALT: Identify the difference between two numbers. WILF: Solve the problem and record your thinking using drawings. Draw a picture of this story to help you find the answer. Mum gave Ruby 7 lollies and she gave Tom 3 lollies. How many more lollies should Mum give to Tom so that he has the same as Ruby? Underneath your picture, write your answer as: Tom needs ____ more lollies.
