Dear Parents,

On Tuesday, April 21st Erickson Elementary School will host a Kindergarten Visitation for

parents of incoming kindergarten students. At the visitation, eaglets (young eagles) will spend

time in the classroom with current kindergarten students, while parents learn about Erickson

Elementary School. If you are aware of a family in the Bloomingdale School District that has a

child turning five on or before September 1, 2015, please have them contact Erickson

Elementary to register their child. There will be a Coffee with Mr. Haugens planned for

Thursday, April 23rd at 9:00 am. This is an opportunity to converse with other Erickson parents

and discuss school related topics with the principal.

Thanks for your continued support of Erickson Elementary School.

Sincerely,

Patrick Haugens

To the parents of all current fourth grade students: On Wednesday, May 6, the District 13 band director, Sue Metzger, will be at Erickson School from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm to meet individually with all fourth graders who are interested in joining band. Students will be given the opportunity to try up to three different instruments that they think they might like to play for the coming school year. No experience is necessary, and coming to the instrument fitting does not automatically commit your child to being in band. Furthermore, there will be an informational meeting for all fourth grade parents district-wide on May 13th at DuJardin School to learn more about the band program. Please direct any questions you may have to Sue Metzger at [email protected]. WESTFIELD BASKETBALL/SOCCER SUMMER CAMPS I will be running a week long basketball camp for students going into 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades the week of June 8-12, as well as a soccer camp for students going into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade the week of June 15-19. The camps will take place at Westfield Middle School. Your child will learn basic dribbling, shooting, and passing skills as well as fun games! A flyer will be sent home with your child with all the information about the camps. Please return the form and money to your child's school or Westfield main office. Any further questions please contact me at [email protected] or 630-529-6211 ext. 5373. Thanks Ms. Giffin, Westfield Wellness Teacher/Coach LAKE PARK SUMMER CAMPS Lake Park is offering summer sports camps for badminton, baseball, boys and girls basketball, cheer, Lancettes, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls tennis, football, cross country, boys and girls soccer, and wrestling. Mission The Bloomingdale School District 13 Education Foundation is a non-profit, independent tax-exempt corporation, founded in 1998, to provide special opportunities and experiences for the children and staff of our district. Long term, the community cannot rely solely on traditional funding to ensure quality public education; private, supplemental support is required. progress can be judged by the way its

animals are treated.” Mahatma Ghandi

PACT Humane Society is an all-volunteer,

no-kill, 501(c)3 animal rescue group

located in Bloomingdale. We rescue cats

and dogs that would otherwise be put to

sleep and find them loving, forever

homes. All of our animals are

spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up

to date on all vaccines at the time of

adoption. However, our veterinary bills

almost always exceed our adoption fees,

especially as many of our animals require

additional medical care.

All coins collected during this fundraiser

will directly benefit the health, wellness,

and happiness of the PACT Humane

Society dogs and cats. Every penny makes

a difference! On average, we adopt out

about 40 animals per month!

Each classroom will be supplied with their

own cat or dog mascot, with a picture and

a short biography. Be sure to ask your

student!

Thank you so much for your support!
