Work and Research
Aluminum Fuel Production, Lincoln Laboratory & MIT Beaverworks, Cambridge, MA Spring 15 – Fall 16
Improved Aluminum Fuel production process which has 30x the energy density of Lithium-Ion batteries and
2x that of gasoline with 90-99% reaction completion.
Increased Aluminum Fuel production rate by 3000% to 5 kg/hr in a scalable process.
Eliminated the cost of fuel treatment from $55/kg to $0 by producing fuel from aluminum scraps.
Oversaw procurement, handling $200,000 budget while communicating with both national and international
suppliers.
Presented Aluminum Fuel pitch to national sponsors.
Propulsion System Study, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Sierra Vista, AZ Summer 15
Led effort to implement a more powerful propulsion system into an upgraded propeller AV.
Created flight models to predict effects on flight distance, speed, fuel burn, and takeoff distance with and
without improved propellers.
Analyzed integration cost and engineering complexity of different propulsion system options.
Pathogens in Microfluidic Systems, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA Fall 14
Conducted research on how the MUC5B protein in saliva affects the viscoelastic properties of saliva to study
disease transmission.
Used a Capillary Breakup Extensional Rheometer (CaBER), high speed camera imaging, Excel and MATLAB
functions to capture the viscoelastic time scale of breakup.
Flash Components Division Marketing Intern, LSI Corporation, San Jose, CA Summer 13
Assisted in marketing next generation solid state flash drives, by providing most recent performance
predictions, test scheduling, and simulation results to consumers.
Created collective performance documentation of flash test results across Benchmark, Marketing, and
Engineering teams.
Ran performance simulations of next generation solid state flash drives (Linux).
Technical Projects
Product Manufacturing Spring 15
Used CAD (SolidWorks) to design, and CAM (MasterCAM) with CNCs to create molds for injection molding
machine.
Designed molds to minimize defects during injection molding and thermoforming processes.
Created and assembled 100 yo-yo’s, each with 10 individual parts.
Adhesive Interfacial Systems Fall 14
Studied the effects of geometry and kinematics on the adhesion forces between a solid plate and liquid body.
Used image analysis (LoggerPro) of high-speed video to capture adhesion effects.
Design and Manufacturing Spring 14
Designed a working robot (CAD) with partial autonomous control with Arduino software.
Designed laser cut and hand machined components using SolidWorks for design.
