I have had 27 undergraduate researchers conduct independent research in my lab.
Seventeen of these students have been with me for two years or more. Moreover, of these
students, One was awarded Honors in the Major grant, one was awarded a Summer
Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), two were awarded a SMART fellowship, four have
been awarded UCF Undergraduate Research Awards, thirteen were RAMP scholars and one
received a prestigious Beckman Scholar award worth over $20,000 (co-advised with Dr. Linda
Walters). During the summer of 2009, I had an intern from University of Notre Dame
conducting research in my laboratory and in the summer of 2010 I had an intern from the
University of the Virgin Islands conducting a summer internship in my laboratory.
