CHALLENGES & ACCOMPLISHMENTSFounder of AIGA San AntonioAfter several years serving and attending AAF (American Advertising Federation) I noticed a need for more Graphic Design centered events. I personally gathered a team of designers through social media sites, contacted other AIGA chapters, and several big names in graphic design including: DJ Stout, Brian Flynn, Woody Pirtle, Jason Limon, Michael Bierut, David Kampa, and many more. With enough manpower, I raised enough people and capital to start an AIGA chapter in San Antonio.
SA JapanIn March 2011, Japan suffered and dealt with the effects of an earthquake, tsunami, and subsequent earthquakes that devastated their country. Since Japan is one of San Antonio’s greatest economical contributors, several organizations, including JASSA, the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce, the City of San Antonio, and a large consortium of civic and corporate community gathered to raise money in support of the Red Cross. With the help of Mayor Castro and the VP of economic development in San Antonio, we helped create a campaign that included several events during the month of May, 2011. This included T-shirts, websites, social media, and public relations which helped raise over $120k for the Red Cross. This was such a success, that on May 4th the City of San Antonio presented a proclamation declaring May as ‘Asia Pacific Heritage Month.’ SA Japan concluded with a free concert by the San Antonio Symphony at the Municipal Auditorium.

ItsypixBRANDING, UX/UI, DIGITAL MARKETING
Itsypix is an e-commerce website that helps you create, share and print various products, including social books, photo books, and canvas prints.
PROCESSResearched every competitor’s website. Built, ordered, and shipped photo books and prints from all of them. Printed every section to re-create their workflow and look for ways to improve them. Researched their marketing, demographics, keywords, and flow strategies to make sure ours was different than any other competitor.
Created a name that would convey the spirit of the brand. Name had to be fun, easy to spell, explain what the product was, and be available as a URL.
This process was followed by creating a full branding style guide. This included a logo, colors, typography, book photography style, product photography, packaging, and promotional materials.
Once the brand was established, wireframes and flow charts for every section were created in the website. Wireframes were also converted into a prototype to make sure the site was simple to use and nothing was left missing. After user experience was approved, UI design followed. The design had to be fun, clean, and easy to read. Once designed, close work was done with developers to make sure the site worked on all browser platforms and devices.
Site design was followed by digital and social marketing. This included social media posts, video animations, and e-mail campaigns.

The Western Union Company is an American financial services and communications company. Western Union has several divisions, with products such as person-to-person money transfer, money orders, business payments, and commercial services.
PROCESSWith the help of WU Corporate, a GCD, a producer, and a team of copywriters, art directors, and account managers, a strategy, brand, and creative direction to promote a WU mobile app in USA, México and Latin America were created. Deliverables included TV, Print, OOH, and Digital Advertising.

USAA has a non-profit organization (The USAA Educational Foundation) which offers the military and the local community the opportunity to be better informed and prepared to make the best financial choices throughout every stage of life.
PROCESSUSAAEF (USAA educational foundation) was searching for better ways to engage their audience to distribute their information. This needed a new cleaner, more modern brand that would address different types of messages, including their military life, personal finance, personal safety, and family life.
Research was conducted on over 80 different organizations, This included visits to every location where informational booklets were delivered. A strategy was also created to deliver information via print, web, and mobile devices.
Project included branding, print, website, a mobile app, infographics and social media.
