bioCaroline Savoie is a 19 year old

singer songwriter with over 90 original songs to her credit.

Inspired by everyday life, she brings the same crisp, inventive phrasing and

soulful tone to each song, regardless of genre, making it distinctively her own.

Caroline’s youth, passion, candor and simplicity bring a soulful breath of fresh air into the music

world, and her reach extends far beyond the local scene. In March 2012 she was featured

on the cover of Indie Music Reviewer Magazine (Atlanta, Georgia) for their fi rst Women of

Indie issue, boasting “the distinction of being recognized over Grammy award nominees &

winners, Rolling Stone Magazine features, VH1 artists, MTV artists, and major festival headliners

who did not get picked for this opportunity” (making the top 5 out of 2200+ considered).

Self-taught, Caroline learned to play guitar at 12 years old, by picking on one received from her

maternal grandparents. After months of practice, her unique voice came to accompany the chords.

Despite just turning 19, Caroline already boasts a vast musical experience since she began

producing songs and performing shows in 2009.

In the Fall of 2011, her songs Chemin perdu and Je t’aime led to garnering top honors at the Sommet de la chanson de Kedgwick, where she also emerged with prizes from: the Théâtre Capitol de Moncton, the Festival acadien de Caraquet, and the Festival d’automne de Kedgwick. She followed up in May 2012 by earning top honors in the Solo category at the Accros de la chanson 2012.

Over the course of two short years, she has performed over 100 shows while being a full-time student. For example, she played at the Dutch Mason Blues Festival and performed on a live national broadcast (Radio-Canada) during the Spectacle de la Fête nationale de l’Acadie 2012. Caroline has also performed in several music festivals like Vue sur la relève 2012 in Montréal and the Interceltique de Lorient 2013 in France (where she performed 20 shows in 10 days). Weeklong writing and performance residencies in Tadoussac (led by Xavier Lacouture) and Petite-Vallée (led by Daniel Lavoie and Marc Chabot) have resulted in several international collaborations. She’s shared the stage with artists such as Mia Martina, Radio Radio, Dominique Dupuis, Annie Blanchard, Lisa LeBlanc, Les Hay Babies, Jonathan Painchaud, Jean-Marc Couture, and Valérian Renault, among others.

Caroline has released two CD / EPs, the English Just Sayin’ (September 2011) and the French Laisse-moi rêver (March 2013). This latest EP was recognized by the music industry, garnering two awards at the 2013 Music NB Awards: Francophone Solo Recording of the Year and Pop Recording of the Year. Both of her released radio singles from this latest EP have charted on community radio stations. The latest release, her song Si tu savais, reached #1 on four distinct community radio station charts.

Singing and playing guitar has become Caroline’s passion; a passion that already promises a very busy 2014.

Caroline was a full time student in 2012 / 13 and 2013 / 14. First at l’Université de Moncton,

then at l’École nationale de la chanson in Granby. Most of her 2014 summer is already

booked (Belgium, Switzerland, France, Congrès Mondial Acadien and others).
