1 SENSUAL UNDERWEAR
Looking for some cool new underwear? Triumph
International Japan has developed the "Super
Cool Bra." They are using a gel material in the cup portion
that you keep in the freezer so you can enjoy a cool bra on
a hot day. Not just “touch,” they have also created a "hear-
ing" bra and a "smell" bra by decorating them with wind
chimes and mint leaves and a "visual" bra in the shape of a
fishbowl. Unfortunately, they are not for sale. But I want
to try the “touch” one, to help me survive the hot summer!
2 RELEASE OF LOUIS VUITTON'S
FIRST IPAD APPLICATION
T h i s a p p li c a t i o n i s b a s e d o n t h e b o o k "10 0
legen da r y tr unk s - L o uis Vuit to n". We have all b e en
fascinated with Louis Vuitton's lug gage for as long as
we can remember. The content is more than a trunkful
of rare trunks, episodes, videos and documents, invit-
ing readers on a great journey. Not to be missed!
3 VIDAL SASSOON MEMORIAL
Radical world famous hair stylist and successful
businessman Vidal Sassoon died on May 9, 2012,
at the age of 84. He was the innovator of the Sassoon cut,
and was lauded all over the world for generating reliable
technology. A movie about his life "Vidal Sassoon" was
released on May 26. It shows all the influence he's had in
the world of fashion and culture up to the present day and
in the future.
4 SCHIAPARELLI AND PRADA:
IMPOSSIBLE CONVERSATIONS
An exhibition on the theme of “Elsa Schiapa-
relli and Miuccia Prada" is being held at the Metropolitan
Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York. Repre-
sentative works from each artist are on display so visitors
can compare and contrast. That's not all! There is also an
imaginary conversation between the two women, direct-
ed by Australian director Baz Luhrmann. The exhibition
runs until August 19th, so don't drag your feet.
5 NEW MODELS FOR CHANEL N°5
Bra d Pit t was ann o un ce d as th e n ew fa ce of
Chanel "N°5". He is the first man to ever be on one
of their billboard adverts. As it is perhaps the most famous
perfume in the world, expectations are high. As for the
exact substance of the advert, we can't wait to find out!
6 SWATCH'S NEW DESIGNS
Swatch's new per fec t-for-summer collec tion,
"Chrono Plastic," will be here in late June. This
time, they are in a renewed design mode with a feel of
high fashion about it. Since the collection is available in
10 colours, it should be easy to find one to fit your tastes.
7 CINDERELLA SHOES
Disney and famous shoe brand Christian Loubou-
tin are collaborating! They are creating the world
of Cinderella that your Editor dreamed of as a child. More-
over, Louboutin fascinates every woman in the world with
feet! More information will be announced in July 2012.

We have seen the term Hi-Lo in many fashion magazines
and websites throughout the world and it simply means
a mixture of expensive and cheap, chic and casual styles
(think: icon Kate Moss).
It’s easy to become an expert at this style today. Just
wear your sophisticated pieces mixed with others from
outlets, thrift stores or even fast fashion.
Being more ‘Hi-Lo’ encourages us to be more free: it
d em o n s trate s o riginalit y a n d go o d s en s e . G et tin g
dressed in only an expensive brand, from head-to-toe,
is 'super over'! Cheap is chic! We may be beautiful,
elegant and with total exclusivity without being dressed
in only luxury clothes or holding that “it” bag that even
has a waiting list. The important thing is to merge new
trends with other elements that show our personality
and creates our own style.
Want some tips for a visual Hi-Lo?
Enjoy the fact that fashion is more democratic than ever
and mix all the accessories and clothes however, expen-

S he was always the outsider. She was ineptly tall
and her face was homely at best. Her silence was
the most awkward part of her. Anyone who attempt-
ed to befriend her failed miserably. Eventually, people
just stopped noticing her. That is when she became
the Watcher. She observed lives around her unfold-
ing; cautionary tales of love mixed with heroic tales
of moral aptitude. When she wasn’t observing life,
she was reading about it. She was quite content with
blending into the background of her own mediocrity,
until the man that talks to the trees approached her.
“ Watcher girl , let me tell your for tune,” he said with
sly intentions.
She responded, as always, with silence.
“ O h y e s , t h a t ’s r i g h t , t h e W a t c h e r g i r l s p e a k s n o

Not only was she as beautiful as the rare blue butter-

touch would result in her untimely demise.
She was imprisoned by the fragility of her precarious
beauty; always to be watched, never again the Watcher.

Ever changing, fluid and fresh – defines Vanessa
Powell’s signature photographic style.
Ever the observant photographer, Powell is a lover of
basics, focusing on light, shadow and line. Raised in
Alaska and more than accustomed to the short-lived
days of sunlight, she embraces the quick changing lights
of the Alaskan sky. Acknowledging it as friend rather
than foe and with the keenest of eyes, Powell seeks out
the deepest of darks and the brightest of lights.
With a long-standing love for literature and art, writ-
ers such as Hans Chris tian A n dersen , T h e B roth ers

ent string of p oet s , have continually fed inspiration

H er inh erent abilit y to create compatible comp osi-
tions makes her photographs what they are: ethereal,
bathed in soft light and echoing in poetic resonance.
Using the outdoors as an ar tistic palette to compose
her photographs, Powell uses the oddities of nature to
build stories on. “I believe strongly in the versatility of
natural settings.”

When we talk about ‘fashion’, it’s some-

what we mean by that term. To get a greater

Think about ‘makeup’. Makeup is ‘making up’;
it is creating something else, something new.
