Aim • A complete set of training materials on proposal pre-screening for

use in the WP1 training courses. Presentations will be produced and will be backed up with exercises to provide practical experiences for the NCPs being trained.

• The following topics will provide the focus for the training:– What makes a good consortium – mandatory requirements

specified in the Work Programme and best practices– A forms – B section– Project finances– EPSS

Progress so far• A shortened version of the pre-screening tool is being developed• No work has started on the presentations or exercises

Plans for 2010• Complete the shortened version of the pre-screening tool • Recruit NCPs to help with the presentations and exercises. Are there

any volunteers? • Complete the training material and liaise with WP1 to decide upon a

completion deadline (TBC)

D3.2: Pre-screening tool (M12)Aim• To develop and support NCPs in the activity of pre-screening proposals through a tool for all projects in FP7• Types of projects that the tool should cover includes:

• Collaborative Projects • Network of Excellence• Coordination and Support Actions

• The pre-screening tool will be a handbook that will provide• Comments on the different sections of a proposal• A model response• Checklists that can be used to ensure all aspects of the proposal

have been addressed.

Task 3.2: Developing a tool for pre-screening proposals

D3.2: Pre-screening tool (M12)Plans for 2010• The tool is in its final draft form but it needs finishing with a front page, etc.• Does a NoE tool need to be developed – no NoE topics in the work programmes• Plan to review the tools in September, ready for 2011 call

Aim• To get a large number of NCPs using and providing feedback on the pre-screening tool and tested by experienced FP7 evaluators.• A questionnaire will be developed that will be sent to all users after a calldeadline. • A report will be generated based upon the questionnaire responses that will contain recommendations for the improvement of the pre-screening tool. The tool will then be updated in line with the report’s recommendations.

Progress so far• An email was sent out twice to the WP3 partners asking for NCP evaluation and comments – only 1 responded!• One UK evaluator is looking at the tools and will provide formal feedback

Plans for 2010• Get more feedback:

• Does anyone know any more evaluators?• WP3 needs your help to achieve the deliverables. Volunteers required

to evaluate the tool• Generate a report but only possible if we get NCPs using the tool
