Report On Family Business Summit

Dr. Mathiyarasan (Director EIC & Faculty, Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti

College)

Prof. Samish Dalal (Associate professor @ SP Jain school of Global Management, Prof.

Samish Dala specializes in the field of negotiations, entrepreneurship and innovation.)

Chief Guests:

Mr. Prashant Bothra (CEO of Fhero accounting Solution Private Limited) Mr. Atulit Chokhani (Founder of the “TEA Shelf”) Mr. Kunj Shah (Business Enthusiast) Mr. Karan Agarwal (Serial Entrepreneur with interest in Minerals, Pharmaceutical &

FMCG.

Objective: To encourage the students to learn and observe through experiences, be

resilient to change, learn to be practical and manage time and enter and continue their family

business.

Brief Write up on the Programme: Prof. Samish Dalal and Dr. Mathiyarasan sir

encouraged the students towards becoming an entrepreneur by telling them about their past

experiences. The Moderators made the session interactive by asking all the chief guests about

the entrepreneurship journey.

1. Mr. Kunj shah: A business enthusiast with a Family Business legacy of 87 years and

counting.

2. Prashant Bothra: A Chartered Accountant who went on to be recruited at Asian Paints as

their youngest manager.

3. Atulit Chokhani: Tea enthusiast with a masterful tea-palate and strong hold in the tea

business, what sets him apart as an entrepreneur is his hands-on experience in the entire tea

manufacturing process.

4. Karan Agarwal: A serial entrepreneur with interest in Minerals, Cement, Pharmaceuticals

and FMCGs.

They also spoke about how the mind-set is going to help them in molding their

entrepreneurship skills to be successful entrepreneurs. The Panel members were very

interactive and discussed the difficulties they faced and how they’ve overcome with modern

solutions. All the entrepreneurs were from different backgrounds. The EIC students were

enriched with the knowledge of the chief guests as each one came from a different

background and different expertise. The Moderators answered the student’s questions and

cleared all their doubts. They also guided them to take their ideas into the real life market and

motivated them to explore the options in the world.

Feedback: Feedback was taken in order to analyze the effectiveness of this Programme. It

was found that out of 270 beneficiaries, 66% (178 students) rated the Programme as an

excellent event and found the information imparted to them very inspiring and beneficial.

Apart from this 20% (54 students) rated the talk as very good, 10% (27 students) rated as

good, and 4% (10 students) rated as satisfied.
