Some basics to consider before writing• Are there similar profiles already in the POD?
• Is the organsiation really committed?
• Can the company communicate well in English?
• Never write a client’s profile for them!
• Think about whether the profile is really necessary; could other Network
services address the client’s need?

Dos and Don’ts• Do consult the Guidelines• Do use short sentences• Do look for an arc in your profile• Do write with a lay person in mind. Even if you are writing something highly
technical, the profile should be easy to understand (these are the profiles that will challenge you most)
• Don’t forget to send the keywords for selection early in the process• Don’t write in the 1st person – often clients will and you need to change this• Don’t include anything in the profile which identifies the client, e.g. Trademark,
graphic name, visible logo in a graphic etc.• Don’t forget to spell out abbreviations, except really obvious ones like IT or DNA
etc.• Do enjoy a job that allows you a huge amount of variety
