Ensto Smartcloser is an automated pole mounted vacuum technology recloser. It reduces outage duration and automati-cally isolates a faulty section of distribution network.

Type testsEnsto Smartcloser have successfully passed all type tests specified in the international standards IEC 62271-1 and IEC 62271-111 (equivalent of IEEE C37.60).The corresponding test reports are available on request.

Routine testsEach product also undergoes individual tests during manufacturing as specified by the standards in force, namely :• Dielectric tests • Partial discharge tests• Voltage drop measurement• Manual and automatic operation tests

Ensto Smartcloser is an autorecloser installed on overhead distribution network. It detects and interrupts momentary faults. If the fault is permanent, it automatically isolates the faulty section of the network.

The use of reclosers prevents customers from suffering electrical outages. Each outage cor-responds to a cost for Electrical Utilities (e.g. loss of energy sales) but also for customers (e.g. loss of production for commercial and industrial). Indicators such as SAIDI and SAI-FI help to measure the reliability of Electrical Utilities.

Adding Ensto Smartclosers to the network is a simple and cost-effective solution to improve network reliability, decrease outage duration and thus save money.

Vacuum Interrupter

Pole unit

Electromagnetic actuator
