Mike has over 25 years of experience in project and department management encompassing topsides fabrication, subsea installation and burial, renewables and onshore petrochemical. With experience in managing large teams of up to 220 multidiscipline personnel he recognises that world class performance can only be achieved by harnessing the capability and commitment of talented people towards a common goal, coupled with the implementation of effective procedures and work processes. Mike intends to build on the existing capability and undoubted strengths within the company to develop a professional and dynamic projects department with the ability and drive to deliver successful project performance to WESL clients each and every time. Wilton’sOffshore Base

As well as a very busy logistics base, our offshore facility is the headquarters of WESLand Universal Coatings. A recent logistical exercise included the unloading onto thequayside and transportation of two Gasifier vessels measuring 30m long x 10m diameterheading for the Air Products 50 megawatt Gasification facility at Seal Sands Teesside.WESL are currently undertaking additional fabrication and rectification work for AirProducts in their fabrication halls.

Since the last edition of NewsWave, Wilton Engineering ”Design & Build” teamcontinues with their impressive growth, recent projects include:

Concept Design and FEA analysis on a number of Subsea related Equipment andHandling Systems, Offshore Construction Vessel upgrade work and the Design and Buildof components for an Umbilical Handling System for an International Equipment Supplier.

With recruitment still continuing 3 additional senior engineers have recently joinedWilton to put the design team alone to over 20 professionals”

After building strong linksinto Norway using theONS exhibition andregular sales visits,WESL were contractedby Kongsberg Oil andGas Technologies AS forthe complete fabricationof a number of largesubsea structures,including PLEM andPLET structures forTalisman VARG projectas well as SAT and DUTAstructures for the StatoilSnorre project. Thesesuccessful contractshave paved the way foreven closer technical andcommercial ties with ourScandinavian colleagues.

Britannia LTCModuleThe 2,500 tonne LTC (Long Term Compression) Moduleis nearing completion with sail away due to commencein August 2013. Wilton are proud to report that theyexpended 800,000 man hours up to MechanicalCompletion without a single recordable injury, a statisticthat clearly demonstrates WESL’s strong commitmentto safety in its operations.

Recent design and build projects include work scopes for the Subsea7 Borealis (a), a universal pipe handling system (c) and part of an umbilical plant handling system (b).
