Waves of english

My respect to my colleagues Mr……., Mdm….., Mdm… teachers and to all my

beloved pupils. Assalamualaikum and very good morning.

Today, we are once again; gathered here in our beautiful and lovely school compound,

just only to celebrate the opening of the Wave of English 2015. For our information

English subject was identified as one of the main factors affecting Kedah's overall

academic results. As such, such, the state, via the Education Department would come

up with more creative approaches to inculcate the students' interest in learning and

using the language. The Waves of English program is one of the initiatives from Kedah

Education Department (JPN Kedah) in collaboration with the New Straits Times Press

(NSTP) to help primary and secondary school students in Kedah excel in English via

attractive learning methods. Waves of English will offer us with a lot of activities and fun

program.

The world is undeniably vast. Countries of different language and culture

proliferated in the once wide nameless tracks of land, many of which are separated by

broad seas and oceans. Yet, we, the people of these countries manage to make a

connection—a bridge—so that despite our cultural differences we still can communicate

with one another, share ideas and beliefs, and show to the rest of the world our

treasures and the richness of our culture and our language. How did we make it

possible? The most popular and common ways are through books, technology and

communication.

So for the rest of this year, the English department offers you beautiful and

worthwhile performances and entertaining activities which will further show you how

books, technology, and communication link the nations of the world.And now, I welcome

you all to our celebration and may you enjoy and learn from the entirety of this affair!
