สาระท่ี 1 ภาษาเพื่อการสื่อสาร เป็นสาระเกี่ยวกับการใช้ภาษาต่างประเทศในการฟัง พูด อ่าน เขียน แลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลข่าวสาร แสดงความรู้สึกและความคิดเห็น ตีความ น าเสนอข้อมูล ความคิดรวบยอด และ ความคิดเห็นต่าง ๆ และสร้างความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบุคคลอย่างเหมาะสม

มาตรฐาน ต 1.1 เข้าใจและตีความเรื่องที่ฟังและอ่านจากสื่อประเภทต่าง ๆ และแสดงความคิดเห็นอย่างมีเหตุผล ตัวชี้วัดที่ 4 จับใจความส าคัญ วิเคราะห์ความ สรุปความ ตีความ และแสดงความคิดเห็นจากการฟัง และอ่าน พร้อมทั้งให้เหตุผลและยกตัวอย่างประกอบ มาตรฐาน ต 1.2 มีทักษะการสื่อสารทางภาษาในการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลข่าวสาร แสดงความรู้สึก และความคิดเห็นอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ตัวชี้วัดที่ 4 พูดและเขียนเพ่ือขอและให้ข้อมูล บรรยาย อธิบาย เปรียบเทียบ และแสดงความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับเรื่อง/ประเด็น/ข่าว/เหตุการณ์ที่ฟังและอ่านอย่างเหมาะสม

สาระส าคัญ การอ่านข้อมูลภาษาอังกฤษช่วยเสริมสร้างความรู้และเปิดโลกทัศน์ของผู้เรียนให้ทันโลกทันเหตุการณ์ ตื่นตัวและปรับตัวให้สามารถด ารงตนอยู่ในสังคมได้อย่างปกติสุขในยุคโลกาภิวัตน์และโลกแห่งข้อมูลข่าวสาร การอ่านข้อมูลจากสื่อประเภทต่าง ๆ เช่นสิ่งพิมพ์ภาษาอังกฤษหรือค้นคว้าข้อมูลจากอินเทอร์เน็ตซึ่งเป็นเหตุการณ์ใกล้ตัว เป็นความจริงที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคม ทักษะการอ่านดังกล่าวสามารถช่วยให้ผู้เรียนฝึกเป็นผู้รับข้อมูลอย่างมีวิจารณญาณและฝึกแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูล ข่าวสาร แสดงความรู้สึกและความคิดเห็น ตีความ น าเสนอข้อมูล ความคิดรวบยอด และสร้างความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบุคคลอย่างเหมาะสมในสังคมแห่งการเรียนรู้สืบไป

แบบฝึกทักษะการอ่านเล่มนี้ เป็นเล่มที่ 1 เรื่อง News Reading ประกอบด้วยแบบทดสอบก่อนเรียน ใบความรู้แบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพ่ือการสื่อสารโดยใช้เอกสารจริง จากการอ่านข่าวภาษาอังกฤษ 5 แบบฝึกหัด แบบทดสอบหลังเรียน เฉลยค าตอบ และ ตารางบันทึกผลการเรียนท้ายแบบฝึก

แบบทดสอบก่อนเรียน คือ ส่วนที่ใช้ประเมินความเข้าใจในการอ่านของนักเรียนก่อนการศึกษาใบความรู้ เมื่อนักเรียนท าเสร็จแล้วให้เปิดดูเฉลยของแบบทดสอบก่อนเรียนเพ่ือส ารวจความรู้เบื้องต้นที่นักเรียนมีเกี่ยวกับเรื่องที่ท าแบบฝึกดังกล่าว

แบบฝึกทักษะ คือ ส่วนที่นักเรียนต้องฝึกท าทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพ่ือการสื่อสารโดยใช้เอกสารจริง ด้วยตนเอง ตรวจสอบค าตอบและส ารวจการพัฒนาความรู้ความเข้าใจในเนื้อหาสาระจากเฉลยค าตอบที่มีอยู่ท้ายแบบฝึกด้วยตนเอง

ค าแนะน าในการใช้แบบฝึกทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารโดยใช้เอกสารจริง

ส าหรับนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีท่ี 6

News Reading การอ่านข่าวสั้นต่าง ๆ เป็นภาษาอังกฤษชุดนี้จบแล้ว นักเรียนมีความรู้ความเข้าใจและ

100 Students Escape Boarding House Fire A boarding house for female university students in Bangkok’s Bangkapi

district was burnt down in a big fire, sending some 100 tenants to flee for their life, police said.

Five students were injured from inhaling smokers and no one was killed in the big fire which engulfed the four-storeys building on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 57 on Saturday night.

Some 20 fire engines took about four hours to control the blaze from spreading to other buildings, but by that time the fire had apparently consumed the building.

Police said the fire started on the second floor and quickly spread to other floors as the owner of the buildings had modified the building as a boarding house by installing wooden walls to make many more rooms for tenants.

Most of the tenants are students of the Ramkhamhaeng University. Several tenants said they fled by climbing to a nearby building from a rooftop before the fire reached the top.

Mayor in ‘drunken fight with police’ Samut Prakan Municipality mayor Chonsawas Asavahame was yesterday charged with illegal detention and failing to submit to a breath test for alcohol. Two aides have been charged, too even though they fled the scene. The charges stem from an alleged drunken brawl with police officers at a New Petchaburi Road traffic checkpoint on Sunday night. Makkasan police commander Maj. Gen. Manit Wongsom-boon alleged Chonsawas locked Lance Corporal Prarob Saengnil in a petrol station near the checkpoint. Chonsawas is said to have a residence in the petrol station. Chonsawas refused to submit to a breath-alcohol test at the checkpoint after officers stopped him for speeding and erratic driving, he said. Manit said a charge of assaulting a police officer had been dropped. It has been reported a well-known lady model was in the vehicle along with two other women. Manit said Chonsawas would be questioned about the incident and the identity of his aides. He said the women were not involved and would not be called as witnesses. Chonsawas denied being drunk. He said he wore short trousers and casual attire at the time, something he did not do when going out for a drink. When asked about the three women in his car, Chonsawas said : “What models? I am puzzled. They are not models, just friends.”

รูปแบบของข่าว

รูปแบบของข่าว (News Form) แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ส่วน ดังนี ้

1. Headline - ข่าวพาดหัว (ในบางข่าวอาจมี Sub-Headline ข่าวพาดหัวย่อย ก็ได้) 2. Lead - ข่าวน า 3. Story/Body – เนื้อข่าว 1. Headline (พาดหัวข่าว)

เป็นส่วนที่ดึงดูดใจผู้อ่านข่าวได้มากที่สุด มีลักษณะสะดุดตา โดยใช้ตัวอักษรที่มีขนาดใหญ่กว่าข่าวน า (Lead) และเนื้อเรื่องของข่าว (Story) ลักษณะการเขียนพาดหัวข่าวมีลักษณะส าคัญ 6 ลักษณะใหญ่ ๆ ดังนี้ คือ



• รูปกริยาทั่วไปท่ีใช้จะอยู่ในรูปของ Present Tense เช่น

• ข่าวพาดหัว จะละ Article และ Verb to be ไว้ และใช้เครื่องหมายวรรคตอน

(Punctuations) ต่าง ๆ เช่น ใช้ Comma ( , ) แทนค าว่า and ดังตัวอย่าง

ประโยคเต็มคือ Over 600 people were killed in china earthquake.

ประโยคเต็มคือ A volunteer and a terrorist are killed in an ambush

2. Lead (ข่าวน า)

ข่าวน า หมายถึง ส่วนที่เป็นย่อหน้าแรก ถัดมาจากพาดหัวข่าว เป็น Topic ทีเ่สนอข่าวน าครอบคลุมเฉพาะ

ใจความและข้อเท็จจริงที่ส าคัญที่สุดของข่าว ดังนั้นข่าวน าจึงมีความส าคัญมากในการช่วยสรุปเรื่องให้ผู้อ่าน

เข้าใจเรื่องทั้งหมด ทั้งยังช่วยขยายความของข่าวพาดหัว (headline) ให้ผู้อ่านเข้าใจ มากขึ้น

ตัวอย่างเช่น

เมื่อดูจากข่าวพาดหัวว่า MP wants marriage details on computers. เราจะทราบแต่

เพียงว่า ส.ส. ต้องการรายละเอียดการสมรสโดยใช้คอมพิวเตอร์ ซึ่งอ่านแล้วจะไม่สามารถเข้าใจเรื่อง

ทั้งหมด จะเกิดข้อสงสัยว่าต้องการไปท าไม หรือใช้คอมพิวเตอร์ที่ไหน ส.ส.คนใด เป็นต้น

แต่เม่ืออ่านจากข่าวน า จะท าให้ผู้อ่านเข้าใจเรื่องได้ทันที คือ ส.ส. จากพรรคประชากรไทย ได้เสนอให้รัฐบาลใช้เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์บันทึกข้อมูลการจดทะเบียนสมรส เพื่อป้องกันการจดทะเบียนซ้อน ข่าวน าจึงมีความส าคัญในการช่วยสรุปเรื่องให้ผู้อ่านเข้าใจเรื่องทั้งหมดได้ชัดเจนมากขึ้น

วิธีการอ่านข่าวให้เข้าใจ เราสามารถสรุปข่าวทั้งเรื่องได้จากการอ่านข่าวน าเพราะข่าวน าจะให้ข้อมูลแก่เรา

ดังต่อไปนี้ คือ

Who? ใคร What? อะไร Where? ที่ไหน

When? เมื่อไร Why? ท าไม How? อย่างไร



อย่างไรก็ตาม ส่วนน าของข่าวอาจไม่มีทุกส่วนทั้งหมด แต่จะมีบางส่วนก็ได้ อาจมีแค่ Who, What, Where

ก็ได้ ส่วนที่เหลือคือส่วนขยายเพื่อขยายรายละเอียดของประธาน หรือกริยาให้ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น

แหล่งที่มาของข่าว

สิ่งส าคัญอีกสิ่งหนึ่งที่ควรค านึง คือ แหล่งที่มาของข่าว ว่ามาจากส านักข่าวไหน และใครเป็นคนให้ข้อมูล(แหล่งข่าว) ส านักข่าว จะอยู่ในวงเล็บ เช่น (AP) - ส านักข่าว AP , (Reuter) - ส านักข่าวรอยเตอร์ , (UPI) – ส านักข่าว UPI ตัวอย่างเช่น

ตามปกติแล้วแหล่งข่าวจะอยู่ท้ายข่าวน า คือหลังจากจบข่าวแล้ว แต่ถ้าแหล่งข่าวนั้นเป็นคนส าคัญก็จะอยู่ใน

ตอนต้นของข่าวน า เช่น

3. Story (เนื้อเรื่อง)

เนื้อเรื่องของข่าว (Story) คือ รายละเอียดทั้งหมดของข่าวที่ขยายความข้อมูลในข่าวน าให้ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น และให้ข้อมูลเพ่ิมเติมอีก โดยปกติจะใช้ตัวพิมพ์ที่มีขนาดเล็กกว่าข่าวน า เพราะมีเนื้อหารายละเอียดมากท าให้กินเนื้อที่มาก

ตัวอย่างเช่น

จากข่าวเรื่องนี้ เมื่ออ่านข่าวพาดหัวจะทราบแต่เพียงว่ามีผู้ชนะเลิศได้ 4 เหรียญทอง ถ้าต้องการได้ใจความของเรื่อง ผู้อ่านต้องอ่านต่อในส่วนของข่าวน า ซึ่งได้ความว่า นักกีฬาเกาหลีใต้ 3 คน และชาวอเมริกา 1 คน ได้เหรียญทองจากการแข่งขันเทควันโด

ดังนั้นถ้าผู้อ่านอยากทราบได้ละเอียดว่า เป็นใครบ้างที่ได้เหรียญ เป็นรุ่นอะไร ชนะผู้ใดบ้าง หรือใครได้เหรียญเงิน และเหรียญทองแดง ก็หาได้จากส่วนที่เป็นเนื้อเรื่องของข่าว



ค าศัพท์ที่เกี่ยวกับหนงัสือพิมพ์

ทุกวันนี้ความรู้ทันเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดข้ึนรอบตัวนักเรียนนั้นเป็นสิ่งส าคัญมาก การอ่านหนังสือพิมพ์ภาษาอังกฤษอาจเป็นเรื่องยากถ้านักเรียนไม่เคยเรียนมาก่อน ให้นักเรียนอ่านรายละเอียดค าแนะน าต่อไปนี้เพ่ือนักเรียนจะได้ข่าวเด่น ข่าวน่าสนใจ (the scoop) น ามาพัฒนาความรู้และประสบการณ์ในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษให้มากข้ึน

• tabloid หรือ rag หนังสือพิมพ์มีหลายประเภทและมีชื่อเรียกแตกต่างกันไปขึ้นอยู่กับว่าตีพิมพ์ออกมาเม่ือไร บ่อยครั้ง

แค่ไหน และน าเสนอข่าวด้านใด เช่น tabloid หรือ rag เป็นชื่อเรียกหนังสือพิมพ์ที่รายงานข่าวเกี่ยวกับเรื่องซุบซิบนินทา หรือเรื่องสะเทือนอารมณ์เป็นส่วนมาก ปกติจะมีขนาดเล็กและบางกว่า broadsheet (หนังสือพิมพ์ที่มีขนาดใหญ่) ชื่ออย่างอ่ืนที่นิยมใช้เรียกหนังสือพิมพ์มีดังนี้ gazette, journal, chronicle และ times

• front page หมายถึง หน้าแรกหรือปกของหนังสือพิมพ์ซึ่งมี articles (พาดหัวข่าว) ส าคัญ

• headline หมายถึง หัวข้อหรือพาดหัวข่าว เช่น Exports shoot up as dollar plunges เป็นต้น Headlines

ปกติจะเขียนในลักษณะพิเศษและใช้ค าอย่างย่อๆ ซึ่งบางครั้งก็ยากแก่การตีความนักเรียนพึงต้องศึกษาให้ละเอียดก่อนฝึกอ่าน

• classifieds หมายถึง ส่วนของหนังสือพิมพ์ที่มีการลงโฆษณามากมาย เช่น การประกาศรับสมัครหรือหางาน

ซื้อขายเช่าบ้านหรืออพาร์ตเม้นท์ ขายรถมือสอง เป็นต้น หรืออาจรวมถึงการลงประกาศหามิตรที่เรียกว่า personals ชว่ยให้คนขี้เหงาหามิตรคู่ใจก็ได้

• editor คือ ผู้ที่มีหน้าที่ดูแลและควบคุมการออกหนังสือพิมพ์ นอกจากนี้ editor หรือ บรรณาธิการยังมี

หน้าที่เขียนบทความในส่วนที่เรียกว่า Editorial ซึ่ง เป็นการแสดงความคิดเห็นต่อหัวข้อข่าวส าคัญในขณะนั้น

• journalist คนที่เขียนข่าวหรือบทความในหนังสือพิมพ์เรียกว่า journalists หรือ reporters สว่นอุตสาหกรรม

หนังสือพิมพ์ทั้งหมดมีชื่อเรียกว่า the press

• circulation หมายถึง การจ าหน่าย หรือจ านวนพิมพ์

• Readers หมายถึง คนที่ซื้อและอ่านหนังสือพิมพ์ ความส าเร็จของหนังสือพิมพ์ฉบับหนึ่งวัดได้จาก

readership หรือ circulation (จ านวนคนที่อ่านฉบับนั้น)

• paparazzi เป็นชื่อทางลบที่ใช้เรียกช่างภาพของหนังสือพิมพ์หรือแมกกาซีน โดยเฉพาะพวกท่ีติดตามดารา

หรือคนดังอย่างใกล้ชิดเพ่ือดักถ่ายรูปของพวกเขา

ในการ get the scoop หมายถึงการหาหรือรายงานข่าวได้ก่อนคนอ่ืน

• breaking news ประโยคนี้ หมายถึง การรายงานข่าวที่เพิ่งจะเกิดข้ันสดๆ ร้อนๆ ทันเหตุการณ์ ประโยคที่มี

ความหมายคล้ายกันอีกอันหนึ่งคือ Hot off the press! ซึ่งหมายถึงหนังสือพิมพ์เพ่ิงออกมาและรวมรายงานข่าวนั้นเพิ่งเกิด ขึ้นใหม่ๆ นั้นไว้ด้วย

หนังสือพิมพ์โดยท่ัวไปจะแบ่งออกมาเป็นข่าวต่าง ๆ ดังต่อไปนี้

• ข่าวในประเทศ (Home News หรือ Local News) Local News ยังสามารถหมายถึงข่าวประจ าท้องถิ่นก็ได้

OH, BABY Taxi driver has lucky day

Even before taxi driver Saiyon Opas started his car, he felt sure it would be his lucky day. After all, it was July 7, 2007, 7/7/07 on the calendar, and the license plate on his taxi is Tor Yor 7777.

On that day, a healthy baby girl was born in the back of his taxi. Saiyon said that a teenage couple flagged him down at about 4 a.m. on

Soi Chang Wattana 10, asking him to take them and a pregnant woman to a hospital. By the time they reached Soi Changwatana 6, he heard a baby crying.

Saiyon said that he was glad the pregnant woman gave birth in his car -- the first time that’s happened in his seven years behind the wheel.

101 Students Escape Boarding House Fire

A boarding house for female university students in Bangkok’ s Bangkapi district was burnt down in a big fire, sending some 100 tenants to flee for their life, police said.

Five students were injured from inhaling smokers and no one was killed in the big fire which engulfed the four-storey building on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 57 on Saturday night.

Some 20 fire engines took about four hours to control the blaze from spreading to other buildings, but by that time the fire had apparently consumed the building.

Police said the fire started on the second floor and quickly spread to other floors as the owner of the buildings had modified the building as a boarding house by installing wooden walls to make many more rooms for tenants.

Most of the tenants are students of the Ramkhamhaeng University. Several tenants said they fled by climbing to a nearby building from a rooftop before the fire reached the top.

Mayor in ‘drunken fight with police’

Samut Prakan Municipality mayor Chonsawas Asavahame was yesterday charged with illegal detention and failing to submit to a breath test for alcohol. Two aides have been charged, too even though they fled the scene. The charges stem from an alleged drunken brawl with police officers at a New Petchaburi Road traffic checkpoint on Sunday night. Makkasan police commander Maj. Gen. Manit Wongsom-boon alleged Chonsawas locked Lance Corporal Prarob Saengnil in a petrol station near the checkpoint. Chonsawas is said to have a residence in the petrol station. Chonsawas refused to submit to a breath-alcohol test at the checkpoint after officers stopped him for speeding and erratic driving, he said. Manit said a charge of assaulting a police officer had been dropped. It has been reported a well-known lady model was in the vehicle along with two other women. Manit said Chonsawas would be questioned about the incident and the identity of his aides. He said the women were not involved and would not be called as witnesses. Chonsawas denied being drunk. He said he wore short trousers and casual attire at the time, something he did not do when going out for a drink. When asked about the three women in his car, Chonsawas said : “What models? I am puzzled. They are not models, just friends.”
