Engineer-Supply Chain Management Under general direction, responsible for supply chain management of engineering projects starting from the project origination and carrying through to the project financial closure. Activities include planning for procurement, compliance to company policies and procedures and liaising with central procurement for centralized procurement activities. Works with other engineering departments and co-ordinates timely supply of services and asset to projects in order to meet the deliverables of the projects. Typically requires a either a degree or diploma in engineering and knowledge in accounting or ERP packages. Engineer-Supply Chain Management

Responsibilities:

Engineering Procurement

Leads a team of procurement and accounting experts assigned to ensure delivery of materials, supplies, equipment and services to meet project requirements within budget and on schedule.

Liaises with the Project Manager and is the primary procurement interface between the Customer, the project and the supplier community.

Preparation of RFQ and lead the process for procurement of assets and engineering services.

Procurement Policy compliance

Comply with Company procurement policies and procedures and act within limits of delegated authority. Ensure that assigned team members follow policies and procedures, have proper levels of delegation and act strictly within them.

Prepare division specific procedures based on Company's operating methods, developed to address identified and potential risks and particular Customer requirements. Project Procurement

Report to the Project Manager as a senior member of the project execution team, whilst functional reporting will be to Project Director. Work with engineering, planning, project controls, construction, CSHE and Quality Management and Central Procurement to ensure procurement is properly aligned with the expectations of the other stakeholders in understanding and addressing the project requirements. Monitor and make changes as work progresses.

Prepare weekly procurement status report and update the engineering team meeting. Establish and maintain close relations and communication with the Customer to ensure

procurement is being executed as per the contractual obligations and Customer expectations, while protecting the Company's interests. Maintain and manage the procurement reporting to and from the Customer.

Participates in the project risk assessment and outlines the procurement related risks to the project. In collaboration with other project disciplines, updates the project procurement plan to

include appropriate mitigation for the risks. Amend and update the project procurement plan as required in changing circumstances.

Establish a pool of registered and evaluated engineering contractors and engineering suppliers in order to reduce the over dependency on few contractors and suppliers, thus reducing the project related risks.

Material Management

Liaise with central stores and reserve material critical for projects. Liase with other non centralized stores and arrange for urgent material if required.

Team related tasks

Counsel, assist and direct subordinate staff members in accomplishing the project procurement objectives. Identify, develop and implement training to enable staff to more efficiently and effectively perform assigned functions. Encourage and promote innovation in obtaining procurement objectives.

Experience and qualifications:

B.Sc. (Engineering) degree with 3 years’ experience or Engineering diploma with 5 years’ experience.

Two or more years’ experience in managing a wide variety of procurement activities. Experience in related industry functions, such as engineering procurement, construction

management, maintenance of machinery, fabrication management and business development is an asset.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and SAP software is a must. Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English is required.
