ENDORSEMENTS, CAREER CLUSTERS, CAREER PATHWAYS, &REQUIRED AND RECOMMENDED COURSESFerris ISD · PO Box 459 · Ferris , TX 75125 · (972) 544-3737 · www.ferrisisd.org
The State Board of Education requires that all students declare an endorsement in writing (PGP). Eighth grade students will meet with counselors in the spring to begin this process. Students will be permitted to change their endorsement with written notification during high school.
Ferris ISD offers all five endorsement options, which allow students flexibility based on individual interests and career goals. Each endorsement category is designed to prepare students to successfully enter postsecondary education or the workforce upon graduation from high school.
The endorsements are as follows:
• Arts & Humanity
• Business & Industry
• Public Service
• STEM
• Multidisciplinary Studies
CTE courses are aligned with the Business & Industry, Public Service, and STEM endorsements. CTE endorsements require a coherent sequence of 4 CTE credits including at least 2 courses in the same career cluster and at least 1 advanced CTE course that is the 3rd course or higher in the career cluster.
The following are CTE courses offered at Ferris Junior High School. Students will receive high school credit for these courses.
