The Roots of MfDR in SL
• Formal efforts to introduce MfDR from 2005/6
• Built on earlier work on M&E • MPI as lead agency charged with
directing and guiding all ministries and agencies to implement projects in an efficient, effective and results-oriented manner.
• MPI has placed 98 officers all over the country to facilitate this process.

change

Conclusion
• Fairly strong start & conducive environment
• Best opportunity for capitalizing on the same
• But implementation of MfDR may well take 3 - 5 years or more
• The success will depend on identification and implementation of most appropriate and effective reform initiatives based on active participation and consultation.
