This vacuum cleaner complies with current safety re-quirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to per-sonal injury and damage to property.To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the vacuumcleaner, please read these instructions carefully beforeusing it for the first time. They contain important informa-tion on its safety, operation and maintenance.Keep these instructions in a safe place and ensure thatnew users are familiar with the content. Pass them on toany future owner.

Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the mainssupply when you have finished using it, before changingover accessories, as well as for maintenance work andcleaning. Switch the vacuum cleaner off at the wallsocket and unplug it.

Correct application

This vacuum cleaner is intended for cleaning flooring indomestic households and similar residential environments.

This vacuum cleaner can be used for all normal cleaningof carpets, rugs and robust hard flooring.

This vacuum cleaner is not intended for outdoor use.

The vacuum cleaner must only be used to vacuum dryfloor surfaces. Do not use on people and animals. Anyother usage, modification or alteration is not supported bythe manufacturer and could be dangerous.

This vacuum cleaner can only be used by people withreduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack ofexperience or knowledge, if they are supervised whilst us-ing it or have been shown how to use it in a safe way andunderstand and recognise the consequences of incorrectoperation.

Safety with children

Danger of suffocation. Packaging, e.g. plastic wrap-pings, must be kept out of the reach of babies and chil-dren. Whilst playing, children could become entangled inpackaging or pull it over their head and suffocate.

Children under 8 years of age must be kept away fromthe vacuum cleaner unless they are constantly supervised.

Children 8 years and older may only use the vacuumcleaner unsupervised if they have been shown how to useit safely and recognise and understand the consequencesof incorrect operation.

Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain thevacuum cleaner unsupervised.

Please supervise children in the vicinity of the vacuumcleaner and do not let them play with it.

Models with radio controls on the handle: Keep batteriesout of the reach of children.

Technical safety

Before using the vacuum cleaner and its accessories,check for any visible signs of damage. Do not use a dam-aged appliance.

Ensure that the connection data on the data plate of thevacuum cleaner (voltage and frequency) match the mainselectricity supply exactly. The vacuum cleaner is suitablefor use with 50 Hz or 60 Hz without modification.

The mains electrical plug must be fitted with an appro-priate fuse.

Reliable and safe operation of this vacuum cleaner canonly be assured if it has been connected to the mains elec-tricity supply.

While the vacuum cleaner is under guarantee, repairsshould only be undertaken by a Miele authorised servicetechnician. Otherwise the guarantee will be invalidated.

Do not pull or carry the vacuum cleaner by the cable,and be careful not to damage the cable when withdrawingthe plug from the socket. Keep the cable away from sharpedges and do not let it get squashed, for example, under adoor. Avoid running the vacuum cleaner over the cable.This could damage the cable, plug or socket. The appli-ance must not be used if any of these have suffered dam-age.

Do not use the vacuum cleaner if the cable is damaged.If the cable is damaged it must be replaced together with acomplete cable rewind. For safety reasons this work mustbe done by the Miele Service Department or a Miele au-thorised service technician.

When vacuuming, in particular fine dust, e.g. sawdust,sand, plaster, flour, talcum powder etc., electrostaticcharges build up naturally. Under certain conditions thesecharges will be released. To avoid the unpleasant effects ofthese discharges, a metal inlay has been incorporated intothe underside of the handle. Please make sure that youkeep your hand in constant contact with this metal stripduring vacuuming.

Do not let the vacuum cleaner get wet. Clean only with adry cloth or slightly damp cloth when disconnected fromthe mains supply.

Repairs should only be carried out by a Miele authorisedservice technician. Repairs and other work by unqualifiedpersons can cause considerable danger to users.

Correct use

To avoid the risk of damage, do not use the vacuumcleaner without the dustbag, dust compartment filter andexhaust filter in place.

The dust compartment cover will not close without adustbag fitted. Do not force it.

Do not vacuum up anything which has been burning oris still glowing e.g. cigarettes, ashes or coal, whether glow-ing or apparently extinguished.

Do not use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up any water,liquid or damp dirt. Wait until any freshly cleaned or sham-pooed rugs or carpets are completely dry before attempt-ing to vacuum.

Do not use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum toner dust.Toner, such as that used in printers and photocopiers, canconduct electricity.

Do not vacuum up any inflammable or combustible li-quids or gases and do not vacuum in areas where suchsubstances are stored.

Do not vacuum at head height and do not let the suctionget anywhere near a person's head.

Important information on the handling of batteries (formodels with radio controls on the handle):– Do not short circuit or recharge the battery, or throw it

into a fire.– Disposing of the battery: Remove the battery from the

radio control handle and dispose of it in a designated re-cycling bin for batteries. Do not dispose of it with thenormal household waste.

Accessories

To avoid the risk of injury when vacuuming with a MieleTurbobrush, do not touch the rotating roller brush.

It is not advisable to vacuum directly with the handle, i.e.without an accessory attached as the rim could get dam-aged and you could hurt yourself on sharp edges.

Only use genuine dustbags, filters and accessories withthe "Original Miele" logo on them. Otherwise the manufac-turer cannot guarantee the safety of the product.

Disposal of packing materialThe packaging is designed to protectagainst transportation damage. Thepackaging materials used are selectedfrom materials which are environment-ally friendly for disposal and should berecycled.

Recycling the packaging reduces theuse of raw materials in the manufactur-ing process and also reduces theamount of waste in landfill sites. Ensurethat any plastic wrappings, bags,etc.are disposed of safely and kept out ofthe reach of babies and young children.Danger of suffocation.

Disposing of the dustbag andfiltersDustbags and filters are made from en-vironmentally friendly materials, and canbe disposed of with the normal house-hold waste, as long as they have beenused exclusively for general householddust.

Disposing of your old appli-anceBefore disposing of your old applianceremove the dustbag and filters and dis-pose of them with your householdwaste.

Electrical and electronic equipment of-ten contains valuable materials. Theseinclude substances which, if handled ordisposed of incorrectly, could be poten-tially hazardous to human health and tothe environment. They are, however, es-sential for the correct functioning ofyour appliance. Please do not thereforedispose of it with your domestic waste.

Please dispose of it at your local com-munity waste collection / recyclingcentre, or contact your dealer for ad-vice.

Ensure that it presents no danger tochildren while being stored for disposal.

Notes on Delegated Regulation(EU) No. 665/2013 and666/2013This vacuum cleaner is a domestic va-cuum cleaner and is classified as a uni-versal vacuum cleaner in accordancewith the above delegated regulations.

These operating instructions, the EUdata sheet and the energy efficiency la-bel for this vacuum cleaner are availableto download on the Miele website atwww.miele.co.uk.

The annual energy consumption statedon the data sheet and on the energy ef-ficiency label describes the indicativeannual energy consumption (kWh peryear), based on 50 cleaning cycles. Ac-tual energy consumption depends onhow the vacuum cleaner is used.

Not all floorheads and accessories sup-plied with the vacuum cleaner are suit-able for intensive cleaning of carpets orhard floors as described in the regula-tions. The following floorheads and set-tings were used to determine the val-ues:

a) For energy consumption, cleaningclass and sound power level on carpetthe adjustable floorhead supplied wasused in the carpet position (see "Pre-paring for use").

b) For energy consumption and clean-ing class on hard floors the adjustablefloorhead supplied was used in the hardfloor position (see "Preparing for use").If your vacuum cleaner is supplied asstandard with the SRD hard floor brush,this is designed for intensive vacuumingof hard floors with gaps and crevicesand will have been used to determinethe above values on hard floors.

The values on the EU data sheet andthe energy efficiency label refer exclus-ively to the combinations and settingsof floorheads on the different floor sur-faces described here.

Original Miele dustbags, dust compart-ment filters and exhaust filters wereused for all measurements.

Preparing for use

Attach the suction hose (dia. 01)

Insert the hose connector into thesuction socket on the vacuumcleaner until it clicks into position. Todo this, line up the guides on the twopieces.

To detach the suction hose (dia. 02)

Press the release buttons at the sideof the hose connector, and lift thehose from the socket.

Connect the suction hose to thehandle (dia. 03)

Insert the suction hose into thehandle until it clicks into position.

Connect the handle to the suctiontube (dia. 04)

Insert the handle into the suction tubeuntil it clicks into position. To do this,line up the guides on the two pieces.

To release the handle from the suc-tion tube, press the release buttonand pull the handle out of the suctiontube, twisting it slightly as you do so.

Adjusting the telescopic suction tube

Depending on the model, your vacuumcleaner will be fitted as standard withone of the following suction tubes:

– Telescopic tube

– Comfort telescopic tube

One part of the telescopic tube ispacked inside the other, and it can beadjusted to suit your height for comfort-able vacuuming.

Press the release button and adjustthe tube to the desired height.

Comfort telescopic tube (dia. 05)

Grasp the release mechanism andadjust the telescopic suction tube tothe required length.

Connect the telescopic suction tubeto the floorhead / SRD hard floor-brush (dia. 06)

Push the telescopic suction tube intothe floorhead / hard floorbrush andturn it clockwise or anti-clockwise un-til it clicks into position.

Press the release button to separatethe individual sections from eachother.

Using the SRD hard floorbrush

(depending on model)

Please observe the flooring manu-facturer's cleaning and care instruc-tions.

This hard floorbrush is especially suit-able for vacuuming floors with deepgaps and crevices, e.g. old woodenflooring.

To adjust the floorhead (dia. 07 + 08)

This vacuum cleaner can be used fordaily cleaning of carpets, rugs and ro-bust hard flooring.

Miele offer a range of other floorheads,brushes and accessories for other typesof flooring and special requirements(see "Optional accessories").

Vacuum carpets and rugs with thebrush retracted:

Press the foot control.

Clean hard flooring which is not sus-ceptible to scratching, as well as floor-ing with gaps or deep crevices in it withthe brush protruding:

Press the foot control.

If the suction power of the adjustablefloorhead seems too high, reduce thesuction until the floorhead is easierto manoeuvre (see "Use - To regulatethe suction power").

To activate the exhaust filter changeindicator

Depending on model, your vacuumcleaner will be fitted as standard withone of the following exhaust filters (dia.09).

a AirClean

b Active AirClean 50 (black)

c AirClean Plus 50 (light blue)

d HEPA AirClean 50 (white)If your vacuum cleaner is fitted with fil-ter b, c or d, you need to activate theexhaust filter change indicator.

Press the release catch for the dustcompartment lid and raise the lid asfar as it will go (dia. 10).

Remove the indicator strip (dia. 11).

Press the exhaust filter change indic-ator (dia. 12).

After approx. 10 - 15 seconds a thin redline will appear in the left hand side ofthe display (dia. 13).

Close the dust compartment lid se-curely, making sure it clicks into posi-tion. Take care not to trap the dust-bag when doing so.

Exhaust filter change indicator

The exhaust filter change indicatorshows the remaining functional life ofthe exhaust filter. After approx. 50 oper-ating hours, or approx. one year of av-erage use, the display will be com-pletely filled with red (dia. 14).

Press the release button on the ac-cessories compartment lid.

The accessories compartment will thenopen.

Take out the accessory you require.

Press down firmly on the lid to closeit.

Standard adjustable floorhead(dia. 17)

For general use and also for vacuumingthe stairs.

For safety reasons when vacu-uming stairs it is best to start at thebottom of the stairs and move up-wards.

Use

Unwind the mains cable (dia. 18)

Pull the mains cable out to the re-quired length, max. cable length ap-prox. 7.5 m. (Exception: the CompleteC3 XXL SGSE1 and SGSG1 max. ap-prox. 8.5 m).

Insert the plug into the socket cor-rectly and switch on.

If vacuuming for longer than 30minutes, the mains cable must bepulled out to its fullest extent. Other-wise there is a danger of overheatingand damage.

Rewinding the cable (dia. 19)

Switch off at the wall socket andwithdraw the plug.

Step on the cable rewind footswitch.

The cable will then retract itself into thevacuum cleaner.

If you do not want the cable to retractcompletely into the vacuum cleaneryou can stop it before it does. Takehold of the end of the cable whilst re-tracting it and give it a short pull justbefore the end.

To switch on and off (dia. 20)

Press the On/Off foot control .

To regulate the suction power

The suction power can be regulated tosuit the type of flooring being cleaned.Reducing the suction power reducesthe amount of effort required to man-oeuvre the floorhead.

The vacuum cleaner has symbols onthe controls which indicate the type ofuse the settings are suitable for.

The setting selected will light up yellow.

When using the adjustable floorhead,if the suction seems too high, reducethe suction until the floorhead iseasier to manoeuvre.

Depending on the model, your vacuumcleaner will be fitted as standard withone of the following suction power se-lectors:

Foot controls (dia. 21)

The first time the vacuum cleaner isswitched on, the highest setting will beselected automatically.

After that the vacuum cleaner willswitch on at the setting which was usedpreviously.

Press the + foot control to select ahigher setting.

Press the - foot control to select alower setting.

Footswitch with Boost function(dia. 22 + 23)

Some models also feature a Boostpower function. This function uses in-creased power for a short period for va-cuuming both fine and coarse stubbornsoiling.

Press the + footswitch until the max-imum power level has been reached.

Then press the + footswitch again.

This activates the Boost function for 20seconds. The Boost indicator will lightup yellow.

You now have the following options:

Press the - footswitch before the 20seconds have elapsed.

This switches the Boost function offand activates maximum power.

Press the + footswitch again once the20 seconds have elapsed.

Radio-control handle (dia. 24)

When the vacuum cleaner is switchedon with the On/Off foot control , theStandby indicator on the vacuumcleaner will light up yellow.

Press the Standby button on thehandle.

The Standby indicator on the va-cuum cleaner will go out.

The first time the vacuum cleaner isswitched on, the highest setting will beselected automatically.

After that the vacuum cleaner willswitch on at the setting which was usedpreviously.

Press the + button to select a highersuction power level.

Press the - button to select a lowersuction power level.

Radio-control handle with Boostfunction

Some models also feature a Boostpower function. This function uses in-creased power for a short period for va-cuuming both fine and coarse stubbornsoiling.

It is easy to reduce the suction powerfor a short time, e.g. to prevent rugs orother objects being sucked into the va-cuum cleaner.

Open the air inlet valve on the handlefar enough to reduce the suctionpower.

The floorhead will be easier to man-oeuvre.

During vacuuming

When vacuuming, pull the cleaner be-hind you on its wheels. You can standit upright for vacuuming stairs andcurtains etc.

When vacuuming, in particularfine dust, e.g. sawdust, sand, plaster,flour, talcum powder etc., electro-static charges build up naturally. Un-der certain conditions these chargeswill be released. To avoid the un-pleasant effects of these discharges,a metal inlay has been incorporatedinto the underside of the handle.Please make sure that you keep yourhand in constant contact with thismetal strip during vacuuming (dia. 27+ 28).

Interrupting operation (dia. 24)

(for models with radio controls on thehandle)

The vacuum cleaner can be paused forshort breaks whilst vacuuming.

Press the Standby button on thehandle.

The Standby button is designedto pause the vacuum cleaner forshort periods of time whilst vacuum-ing. Do not leave the vacuum cleanerin Standby mode for long periods.Otherwise there is a risk of overheat-ing and damage.

An LED will indicate each time a buttonis pressed on the handle.

At the end of the pause you can do oneof the following:

Press the Standby button again toswitch the vacuum cleaner back on atthe setting you were using beforepausing it.

Press the + button to switch the va-cuum cleaner back on using thehighest power setting.

Press the - button to switch the va-cuum cleaner back on using the low-est power setting.

Setting down, transportationand storage

Park System for pauses during vacu-uming (dia. 29)

The Park system allows you to conveni-ently park the suction tube and floor-head during pauses.

Slot the floorhead or floorbrush intothe parking attachment on the va-cuum cleaner.

If your vacuum cleaner is on a slop-ing surface, e.g. a ramp, retract thetelescopic tube fully.

Park system On/Off switch

Some models are fitted with an On/Offswitch in the Park system.

The vacuum cleaner switches off auto-matically when the floorhead or floor-brush is slotted into the parking attach-ment. When it is removed from theparking attachment, the vacuumcleaner switches back on at the previ-ously selected power level.

Park system for storage (dia. 30)

Always disconnect the vacuumcleaner from the electrical supplywhen you have finished using it.Switch it off at the wall socket andunplug it.

Stand the vacuum cleaner upright.

Retract the telescopic tube fully sothat the vacuum cleaner takes up lessroom for storage.

Slot the floorhead downwards intoone of the parking attachments onthe side of the vacuum cleaner.

This makes the vacuum cleaner easierto carry or store.

Maintenance

Always disconnect the vacuumcleaner from the electrical supply formaintenance work and for cleaning.Switch off at the wall socket and un-plug it.

The Miele filtration system consists ofthree components:

– Dustbag

– Dust compartment filter (for motorprotection)

– Exhaust filter

These will need to be replaced fromtime to time to ensure that your vacuumcleaner performs efficiently.

We recommend only using genuinedustbags, filters and accessorieswith the "Original Miele" logo onthem. This will ensure that the suc-tion power of the vacuum cleaner ismaintained, giving the best possiblecleaning results.Dustbags with the "Original Miele"logo on them are not made from pa-per or paper-based materials and nordo they have a cardboard collar. Thisis why our dustbags are particularlylong-lasting and reliable.Please note that appliance faults anddamage originating from the use ofaccessories which do not carry the"Original Miele" logo will not becovered by the appliance guarantee.

Purchasing new dustbags and filters

Original Miele dustbags and filters canbe ordered from Miele, your Mieledealer, or from the Miele Webshop.

Ordering the correct dustbags andfilters

Only use original Miele G/N dustbagswith a blue collar and original Miele fil-ters. These are identified by the "Ori-ginal Miele" logo on the packaging ordirectly on the dustbag.

An AirClean filter and a dust compart-ment filter are supplied with everypacket of Miele dustbags.

These can also be purchased separ-ately from your Miele Dealer, from Mieleor from the Miele Webshop. Pleasequote the model number of your va-cuum cleaner when ordering to makesure you get the correct filter.

When to change the dustbag (dia. 31)

Change the dustbag when the colourmarker in the dustbag change indicatorturns red, or sooner if it is no longer ef-fective (see possible reasons for thisbelow).

Miele dustbags are disposable anddesigned for single use only. Disposeof the dustbag when full. Do not at-tempt to reuse. Blocked pores inused dustbags will reduce the suc-tion power of the vacuum cleaner.

To check the dustbag change indic-ator

Attach the standard adjustable floor-head to the vacuum cleaner.

Switch the vacuum cleaner on andselect the highest power setting.

Lift the floorhead off the floor a little.

How the dustbag change indicatorworks

The dustbag change indicator is set fornormal household dust. This generallycontains a mixture of dust, hair,threads, carpet fluff, grit etc.

However, if the cleaner has been usedto vacuum up fine dust, such as plaster,brick dust, cement or flour, the pores ofthe dustbag will become blocked veryquickly. This affects the air permeability of thebag, and the marker will indicate thatthe bag is "full" even when it is not. Ifthis happens you must still change thedustbag because suction power will begreatly reduced by blocked pores in thedustbag.

If, on the other hand, a large amount ofhair and carpet fluff which typically con-tains a lot of air is vacuumed up, the in-dicator may fail to react even thoughthe bag is full. You should still change it.Both these extremes can occur.

How to replace the dustbag(dia. 32 + 33)

Press the release buttons at the sideof the hose connector, and lift thehose from the socket (dia. 02).

Lift the release catch for the dustcompartment lid and raise the lid asfar as it will go (dia. 10).

The dustbag has a closing flap whichcloses automatically when the dustcompartment lid is raised to preventany dust escaping.

Pull the dustbag out by the grip onthe collar.

Fit the new dustbag into the blueholder as far as it will go. Leave it fol-ded up when you take it out of thebox.

It should be unfolded as far as pos-sible in the dust compartment.


The lid will not close without a dust-bag in place. Do not force it!

Insert the hose connector into thesuction socket on the vacuumcleaner until it clicks into position. Todo this, line up the guides on the twopieces (dia. 01).

When to change the dust compart-ment filter (for motor protection)

Replace this filter every time you start anew packet of dustbags. A dust com-partment filter is supplied with everypacket of Miele dustbags.

How to change the dust compart-ment filter (dia. 34)

Open the dust compartment lid.

Pull the dustbag out by the grip onthe collar.

Open the blue filter frame fully andremove the old filter. Hold by theclean, unsoiled section to remove it.

Replace with a new dust compart-ment filter.

Close the filter frame.

Fit the dustbag into the blue holderas far as it will go.

This occurs after ap-prox. 50 hours of operation which isequivalent to about a year of averageuse. The vacuum cleaner can still beused. However, the suction power willbe reduced as will the effectiveness ofthe filter if it is not replaced in goodtime.

How to replace the AirClean filter(dia. 35 + 36)

Do not use more than one exhaust fil-ter at a time.


Press the release catch on the filtergrille and open the grille until it clicks.

Grasp the used AirClean filter by oneof the clean, unsoiled sections andtake it out.

Replace it with a new AirClean filter.

If you wish to fit an Active AirClean50, AirClean Plus 50 or HEPAAirClean 50, see "Maintenance - Re-placing one type of exhaust filter withanother".

Close the filter grille.

Close the dust compartment lid.

Lift the exhaust filter and remove it.

Insert a new exhaust filter making itsure it goes in properly, then push itdown into position.

Press the exhaust filter change indic-ator (dia. 12).

After approx. 10 - 15 seconds a thin redline will appear in the left hand side ofthe display (dia. 13).

Close the dust compartment lid.

When changing the filter please note:

2. If you wish to replace exhaust filter b,c or d with filter a, it is essential thatyou also fit the filter grille * (dia. 36).

Maintenance indicator with reset but-ton (dia. 39)

Some models are fitted with a mainten-ance indicator.

The indicator lights up after approx. 50hours of operation, which is equivalentto about a year of average use. Thelevel of soiling of the dust compartmentfilter and the exhaust filter must bechecked at this point.

If the filters are replaced, the indicatormust be reset. To do this the vacuumcleaner must be switched on.

Press the reset button.

The maintenance indicator will go outand reset to zero.

The indicator can only be reset bypressing the reset button after thelight has come on. Pressing the but-ton at any other time will have no ef-fect.

When to change the battery in the ra-dio-control handle

Approximately every 18 months. One 3 V battery (CR 2032) is required.

The vacuum cleaner can still be usedwhen the battery has run out or ifthere is no battery fitted.

To do so, switch the vacuum cleaneron using the On/Off foot control .The Standby indicator on the va-cuum cleaner will light up yellow.

Press the restart button on the va-cuum cleaner (dia. 40).

The vacuum cleaner can continue to beused in this way, but only at maximumpower.

How to change the battery in the ra-dio-control handle (dia. 41)

Undo the screw cap on the batterycompartment using a screwdriver andthen remove the cover.

Replace the battery with a new one,making sure the polarity is correct.

Replace the cover and tighten thescrew cap back up again.

Dispose of the old battery in a desig-nated recycling bin for batteries.

When to change the thread lifters

The thread lifters on the suction inlet tothe floorhead can be replaced. Checkthem from time to time and replacethem if the pile has worn down.

How to replace the thread lifters(dia. 42 + 43)

Use a suitable screwdriver to removethe thread lifters from the slots.

Fit new thread lifters.

Upholstery nozzle SPD 10 (dependingon model) (dia. 44)

Disengage the thread lifter unit eitherside of the upholstery nozzle using acoin.

Fit a new thread lifter unit and lockinto position.

Cleaning the roller on the AllTeQfloorhead (dia. 45)

Release the bearing (with bayonet fit-ting) using a coin.

Press the bearing out, and remove.

Remove the roller.

Remove any threads and hair, replacethe roller and refit the bearing, lockingit back into position.

Cleaning and care

Always disconnect the vacuumcleaner from the electrical supply be-fore cleaning it. Switch off at the wallsocket and unplug it.

Vacuum cleaner and accessories

The vacuum cleaner and all plastic ac-cessories can be cleaned with a propri-etary cleaner suitable for plastic.

Do not use abrasive cleaningagents, glass cleaning agents, all-purpose cleaners or oil-based condi-tioning agents.

Dust compartment

The dust compartment can, if neces-sary, be cleaned using a dry duster,brush or, if available, a second vacuumcleaner to vacuum the dust out.

Do not let the vacuum cleanerget wet. If moisture gets into the ap-pliance, there is a risk of electricshock.

Problem solving guide

Problem Cause and remedy

The vacuum cleanerswitches off automatic-ally. On certain models, theoverheating warninglight also comes on .

A temperature limiter switches the vacuum cleaner offautomatically if it gets too hot. This can occur if, forinstance, large articles block the suction tube or whenthe dustbag is full or contains particles of fine dust. Aheavily soiled exhaust or dust compartment filter canalso be the cause of overheating. Switch the vacuum cleaner off immediately using

the On/Off foot control . Disconnect from theelectricity supply. Switch off at the wall socket andunplug it.

After removing the cause, wait for approximately 20 -30 minutes to allow the vacuum cleaner to cool down.It can then be switched on again.

The fuse cover must be re-fitted whenchanging the fuse, and if the fuse coveris lost the plug must not be used until asuitable replacement is obtained.
