The Walnut School Service Unit in Emporia enjoyed an awesome night full of dancing at their Wii Dance Party on December 2nd. There were 42 girls in attendance: Three Juniors, 27 Brownies,

and 12 Daisies. 16 volunteers made this night a success!

Can you imagine eight Wiis, 32 Wii remotes, eight TVs, three copies of Just Dance 2, four copies of Just Dance, and one copy of Just Dance Kids all in the same room?

The Brownies earned their

Dancercize Try-It. The Juniors earned their Dance badge. The Daisies earned a dance fun patch and worked on their Be A Sister To Every Girl Scout and Courageous and Strong Petals. All the girls made tutus out of plastic grocery sacks and strips of black, pink, and purple tulle. The girls all took turns posing in their tutus in front of a special backdrop! The girls and volunteers had a blast!

The first Thin Mint Sprint for the Emporia region was held on Saturday, March 5th, at Emporia State University. There were 116 participants including those who raced in the 5K, ran or walked in the One Mile, and those who chose the Sleep-In Option. It was a chilly morning for those of us who are not runners, but those true runners seemed to enjoy the brisk weather. Thin Mint Sprint was a great success

This fundraising event would not have been possible without our wonderful sponsors and volunteers: KVOE, Mix 104.9, Country 101.7, Emporia Gazette, Flint Hills Mall, William’s Automotive, AKA The Sports Fan, Classic Vending, Carpet Plus, Starbucks, Reebles Country Mart and Alpha Kappa Lambda.
