Movement of the Shovel

The movement of theshovel is used to disipateenergy which, otherwisewould contribute to thecabin movement.

In order to achieve thisenergy disipation effect, the eigenfrequency of theShovel must bedetermined according tothe cabin characteristics.

Energy

The movement of the shovel is usedto disipate energy in the cabinmovement around the Y-Axis.

In order to analyse the results, weobserve the rotation of the cabinaround the Y-Axis.

The red lines represent themovements which are interacting.

The blue line represents themovement represented in the figure.

? It is possible to use the shovel of an excavator as a vibration absorber for the cabin byconsidering the excavator as a whole system.

? The use of the shovel as a vibration absorber can reach up to 50% of reduction in the pitch movementof the cabin.

? The stiffness of the shovel hanging system, for this studied case, lies between 90 and 320 [N/mm]. Apossible solution is the use of an hydraulic cylinder.

? The use of other sub-components of the excavator, like for example the motor, show also essentialimprovement.
