INTRODUCTION

I will be talking about the complete metamorphosis of a butterfly. There are 4 stages in a butterfly lifecycle. These 4 stages are have important stuff they have to do . The egg is where the butterfly is born . The next stages is the larva , then it is a pupa and then finally it is an adult butterfly.

Stage 1The egg comes in different shapes, sizes, colors and textures of a butterfly. Eggs varies greatly from one species to another.. Most hesperiidae, papilionidae and riodinidae produce smooth globular eggs.  The egg shell also is peppered with thousands of microscopic pores called aeropyles. Microscopic examination of the eggs of Riodinidae, Lycaenidae and Limenitidinae species reveals them to be dorned with hundreds of minute hexagonal pits

Stage 2

This stage is when the caterpillar is eating a lot after it hatches from an eggs. It starts to eat all the time nonstop. They shed out of their old skin then it starts to eat again. Until it is really fat then they do the next stages.

Stage 3This is the stage when the caterpillar forms a chrysalis and stays there for days or weeks. Inside the chrysalis is a pupa and a lot of stuff are going on . The caterpillar is turning into a butterfly. Then it opens for the last stage.

Stage 4This stages is the adult stage. After the butterfly comes out it’s wings are wet so it can’t fly yet. Then when the wings are dried it flies out and the life cycle starts all over again. The egg comes then the caterpillar, pupa, and finally another butterfly.
