    To: Rubicon, Inc.

    Established in 1970; Rubicon, Inc. is Central Virginia's oldest and most comprehensive chemical

    dependency treatment program offering a full continuum of services ranging from detoxification

    to aftercare. The Program operates a medical and social detoxification unit, gender specific

    therapeutic communities and primary care facilities, traditional and intensive outpatient units and

    a residential community for addicted mothers and their young children. These modalities are

    designed to address individual needs of Program participants and vary in intensity of treatment

    model, length of stay, extent of focus on community reentry programming, and treatment

    curriculum.

    Rubicon offers a broad range of programs from intensive inpatient services to a host of outpatient

    programs, each matched to the unique needs of our clients.

    Congressman Bobby Scott

    Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott began serving his ninth

    term as a Member of Congress on January 6, 2009. Prior to

    serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Scott served

    in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1978 to 1983 and in the

    Senate of Virginia from 1983 to 1993.

    During his 15-year tenure in the Virginia General Assembly,Rep. Scott successfully sponsored laws that are critical to

    Virginians in healthcare, education, employment, economic

    development, crime prevention, social services and consumer

    protection. His legislative successes included laws that

    improved healthcare benefits for women, infants and children,

    increased the Virginia minimum wage and created the

    Governor's Employment and Training Council. He also

    sponsored the Neighborhood Assistance Act, which provides tax

    credits to businesses for donations made to approved social

    service and crime prevention programs.

    THIS YEARS SUCCESSES: On average 1,000 consumers came through McShin a week. About 20,000 phone calls were received. McShin is a provider for education offering Peer Leadership Training courses. There were 47 graduates of the Peer Leadership Training class Our 2009 Springs Awards Banquet honored Sheriff C.T. Woody with the Bronze Key Award,

    250 people attended.

    Our annual pool party hosted by John & Kathy Rueger had over 200 in attendance. In September we had our annual Recovery Fest and BBQ Cookoff. There were over 5,000 in

    attendance. Shoe Suede Blues featuring Peter Tork, formerly from The Monkees was theheadliner band.

    In October our golf tournament was held with about 100 golfers attending. We raised over $5,000.00 at our Holiday Party/Silent Auction in 2009. Our Comedy Event featured comedians Mark Lundholm and Damon Edwards and we had over

    300 in attendance. In March we had our town hall meeting on Substance Use Disorder prevention. There were

    over 250 in attendance. The panel speaker was William Borchert, author of When Love Is NotEnough-The Lois Wilson Story. Many other guest speakers were there sharing theirexperience with recovery.
