when temperatures start dropping and winter is around the corner it’s time for change. trees loose their foilage, people on the street are getting wrapped up in multiple layers and our otherwise so colourful world slowly fades into grey. here at eleven we love the winter season, so we decided it was time to give back some kudos. the optic pant has it’s very own way of paying tribute and brings back all the colour that disappeared elsewhere when temperatures get close to hit freezing point. ain‘t that nice of us?

many stories down in the secret laboratories of eleven a selected crew of our elite fabric-engineers spent several years working on project “spectra”. they all shared a common vision; creating a product that will constantly adapt to the environment within it is moving. with the birth of the optic jacket, one of the best kept secrets in the history of outerwear engineering finally has been disclosed. it‘s the first product in a series of a selected few that shows reaction on temperature and will adopt an entirely new visual appearance once it crosses a certain degree of outside temperature.

whereas common objects created by human being are of static nature, the process represents the future of product design – constant adaption to the elements, while fully understanding all different shades of meaning they represent. not only does it change it’s appearance with changing temperatures, it actually ties up close with the emotions that come along with it. the more you look forward to riding once it’s getting cold outside, the more colorful your jacket will become.

every process is representable as a particular trajectory in asystem’s phase space. the process pant represents the evolutionary trajectory technical outerwear is going through these days. essential functions and necessary performance levels have been reached. time to take the next step we figured and equipped the process with some artificial intelligence and a dash of personality. just enough to enable it to express it’s likes and dislikes, without risking it becoming your alter ego.

a pinnacle in post-modern garment design. the neo collection presents a synthesis of the most high-end fabrics, a taste of street-roughness, finished off with some pop-art flavoured detailing. craftsmanship created by the eleven artist collective.

when working on the neo collection i imagined a black surface with a red stripe that follows the movement. to me it’s like a futuristic building complex. reduced in design, geometrical lines, straight edges and angulated corners accentuated with color just like bauhaus, corbusier or mondrian. the design is monolithic, speaking a clear language. clean, plain and distinctive in detailling. contemporary art for creative riders. lorenza ehrler / product design

the render jacket is the result of a complex process of creating, shading and texturing. the emphasis in its design was on the correct reproduction of light, shadow and the surface properties, defining its emotional impact is up to you. find your own interpretation of the visual information you are receiving and work your own way through the multiple layers the render jacket holds for you.

it’s the quality of execution that distinguishes the good from the excellent. for the render pant, good simply wasn’t good enough. it’s not about generic qualities you expect from your product, those are given, it’s about those little things that are one small step for a man, but one giant step for mankind, at least for what concerns outerwear products. take the allover-connection-system, take the pant saver, a zipper that joins what shouldn’t split, a string that holds what shouldn’t drop. it’s easy.

a symbol is always just as good as it’s comprehensibility and the best symbols are the most simple ones. they bring across a clear message with no risk of confusion. the message of the symbol pant is fairly clear: talk less, ride more. and it’s designed for exploring the backcountry 6 months straight. girls don’t do this anyway? well that’s what you may think…

a symbol is something that represents something else by association, resemblance or convention. symbols indicate and represent ideas or concepts. the symbol jacket for instance represents our idea of what an outerwear jacket should be like and it stands for our concept of combining performance and functionality with look. the result shows in 15k of waterproofness and 10k of breathability, a removable hood with an internal rib collar that makes it helmet-compatible and those small extras like the removable fur or the fashion-like flap design.

many years ago some fellow gentry founded the club of eleven. they enjoyed traditional sports such as horseback polo and gathered regularly to exchange ideas they believed were relevant for the development of human beings. today the club of eleven still consists of memorable individuals that are pulling the strings on more than you could ever imagine.

the club of eleven has a restricted membership policy. it allows entry only to the ones that understand what makes the difference. the garments within this collection all consist of elaborate yarn dyed fabrics, meaning that threads are being dyed prior to weaving the fabric. this in order to reach the best possible colour effects. the sophisticated leather trim-design puts a lot of attention into detail and makes this line stand out from the crowd. leandro davies / sales & marketing

the ascot racecourse is famous for it‘s thoroughbred horse racing. royal ascot is the world‘s most famous race meeting and a major event in the british social calendar. the royal enclosure has a strict dress code. with the ascot jacket we did our best in combining functionality with a classy design letting you blend in perfectly with them. the double-entry cargo pockets are designated to store your binoculars and equipped with a cleaning towel allowing you a constant pin sharp view on what‘s happening on the track.

when queen anne founded the ascot racecourse back in 1711, the first race held was “her majesty’s plate” with a purse of 100 guineas and 7 horses competing, each carrying a weight of 12 stones. in memory of this event we designed the ascot pant, fitting – what a coincidence – exactly 6 stones in each of it’s lateral cargo pockets. of course there is an additional pocket for the 100 guineas also located just a little bit further down, but for obvious reasons we decided to keep that one rather low-key.

polo was at first a training game for cavalry units. to the warlike tribesmen, who played it with as many as 100 to a side, it was a miniature battle though. designing a pant that would resist such forces, was our primary focus when working on the chukker. defining bending spots and working out the perfectly angled articulation, creating features such as the pant saver system, and of course avoiding any side seaming, became our daily challenges. with the birth of the chukker pant the mission was accomplished.

CHUKKER PANT

in a polo match a chukker lasts for exactly 7 ½ minutes, the chukker jacket is designed for a match lasting 7 ½ months at least. while in variations such as arena polo, bike polo or even segway polo no special equipment is needed, in snow polo the situation presents itself differently. exposed to the unpredictability of nature, an allover-connection-system becomes a must in order to bring home the cup safely, while the side seam free design lets you swing the mallet as many times as you need to without having to bother about harming your suit.

jodie kidd, famous for her talents on horsebacks as on the catwalk and sometimes also backstage. as a child she was a showjumper. jodie’s elder sister, jemma kidd, is the wife, since june 2005 of arthur gerald wellesley, earl of mornington, grandson of the duke of wellington. she also has a brother, jack kidd who was married and has several children. her granduncle, billy kidd, emigrated to america one day and no one knows what he as been up to since. in fact we didn’t think of her at all really when designing the jodie jacket, but just like jodie, it turned out pretty damn cool also.

the divesa – turning functional, performing fabric into a noble piece of cloth, protecting your legs from extraneous cause, whatever it may be. a classic and clean straight fit with fully taped seams, articulated knees, an internal waist adjustment the allover connection system and a smart positioned upper leg pocket is what the divesa holds for you.

while other girls spend their free time going shopping and having nonsense chats with their nonsense girlfriends about whatever nonsense there is to chat about, lynn prefers spending her weekends up on the mountain and out in the snow. lynn is committed to riding, and expects the same from her equipment. a relaxed fit gives her a feeling of freedom while 20k of waterproofness and 15k of breathability provide her with the necessary performance. the feminine design of the cargo-pockets are just a little extra, turning a good pant into her favourite one.

lynn’s the sort of girl that makes heads turn round when walking down the street. she’s got class and she’s got the style, but in fact she doesn’t give a damn about it really. she’s the sort of girl you’ll meet up on the mountain doing the tree run all on her own while everyone else is slurping on their hot chocolates waiting for the snowfall to end. what lynn likes most about her favourite jacket is that internal rib collar, giving her a feeling of comfort and warmth no matter how nasty the weather. do you care about the weather? we don’t, and lynn doesn’t either.
