A preservation gel has been prepared to enhance

the shelf life of syzgium cumini (Jamun) fresh

fruit. The process comprises the steps of

preparation of preservation gel. The main

constituents of the preservation gel are carboxy

methyl cellulose, potassium sorbate and sucrose.

The washed and dried fruits were immersed into

the gel and stored at 4°C, 0°C and -80°C. The

preserved fruit remained stable for minimum 30

days at 4°C, 2 years at 0° C and shelf life

increases more when it stored at further lower

temperatures i.e. -80°C.

The present invention relates to the process of

removal of congo red pollutants belonging to the

field of industrial and sewage treatment by using

manganese oxide /polyvinyl chloride (MnO2 -

PVC) composite as an adsorbent. Tetra-methyl

ammonium hydroxide (TMA. OH), manganese

chloride (MnCl2.4H2O), hydrogen peroxide

(H2O2) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are used as

raw materials. The raw material, i.e. 0.6M

tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide solution and

0.3.M manganese chloride solution were mixed in

the ratio of 1:1 then added to 1.5% H2O2 solution.

The cooled MnO2 then dried at a temperature of

60 °C - 120 °C for 20h- 24h in oven. The

MnO2 and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) were mixed

with the ratio of 1:1 under continuous stirring at

room temperature, decanted and filtered the

suspension, dried the modified MnO2 - PVC

composite for 4h-12h at 45-95 °C. The present

wastewater treatment method is simple; the yield

is high (more than 90%); the treatment effect is

good; the repeated use can be realized. 474/2019
