Batteries
Electrochemistry has come a long way from potentiometric measurements, and battery technologies have developed quite rapidly, particularly in the last couple decades. What remains constant is that batteries are—materials science not withstanding—pure electrochemical devices. Electrochemical studies and potentiostats are critical to battery research.
Battery engineers are tasked with producing higher energy densities at lower prices, while focusing on safety concerns. Furthermore, secondary (rechargeable) batteries add additional cycle-life requirements and testing.

The Lithium Battery Electrochemical Cell Kit has been designed for electrochemical testing of lithium battery materials.The
electrodes and holders are designed to hold foils and electrode materials in different configurations. The cell was designed
to provide an air-tight seal using the specially tapered Teflon® joints. The main purpose of this was to allow for cell assembly inside a glovebox followed by removal for electrochemical testing outside the glovebox.
