Unable to sleep on a hot, muggy summer night, I

switched on the television. A movie,Mary ShelleysFrankenstein, had started. Proessor Waldman was

a medical scholar that had been censured or his rebelliouswayshe had diverged rom accepted academic research.

Played by John Cleese,his ace loomed on thescreen as he explained toVictor Frankenstein, a

medical student, playedby Kenneth Branagh:

For thousands o yearsthe Chinese have based

streams. He went onto explain how they insert: needles like these into theesh at various key points to manipulate these electric

numerous patents have been led, papers published, books

written, and web pages developed to explain the subject.

Te research o the ollowing scientists stood out or me.Each breaks new ground in better understanding how ourbodies work to keep us alive and well.

Jacques Benveniste, M.D., a French scientist states: Liedepends on signals exchanged among molecules.1 Tesesignals travel at speeds beyond our comprehension. As

Benveniste points out, established medicine is based onthe theory that molecules communicate only when a key

molecule nds the right keyhole molecule. A key mustbe put in the right keyhole in the same way we unlock adoor. Finding the right keyhole allows the molecule to pass

along inormation or, in other words, create a chemicalreaction. He had been a scientist or many years beore herealized the absurdity o this theoryit suggests a randomand cumbersome process that would be ar too slow to

account or the lightning speed o reactions in the body.Benvenistes research is based on the act that moleculesvibratea act known or decades. Tese vibrations are

the tools o the tradethe communication system by

which biological unctions are controlled. Te vibrations

are electromagnetic requencies that send signals. Wateris one medium in the body through which high-speed

transmission o messages between molecules is possible.We can now understand, says Benveniste, how millionso biological molecules can communicate at the speed olight. Identiying the specic electromagnetic requency

or dierent molecules allows modern science to diagnoseand heal using those electromagnetic requencies. Adiscovery that, to this day, is largely ignored by establishedmedicine.

Another leading scientist, Robert O.Becker, M.D., broke new ground with

his research in healing using electricity.He started by proving the electricalnature o the nervous system and thebrain. In Te Body Electric, he states:

Our work on nerves and the brain wasleading toward a whole new concept olie whose implications only graduallybecame apparent.2 Ten came his discovery that bonehealing and growth were set in motion by a tiny charge

o electricity. Becker ound electricity best described all

lie unctions. Electricity is commonly conducted withthe use o crystal structures. Crystal structures are a keyto understanding the electrical nature o cells. Becker

explained, Te electron microscope has shown uscrystallike structures o previously unsuspected complexityin all living cells, 3 In addition, he described anothersystem hidden within the biological structures o the bodyor electrical transmission. Te sheaths surrounding the

nerves themselves are not merely insulation as describedin established biology. Tey unction as wires to conductelectricity that reaches into each area o the body tocreate a normal electrical environment around each cell, or

a stimulatory one when healing growth is needed. Becker

had cleared the way or the Body Electric as a newparadigm in medicine when he stated, those embarrassinglittle oddities that the chemical-mechanistic theory could

Benveniste, Becker and other pioneers that have helped usto better understand howthe human body unctions

and, more importantly,how to better help it heal.Franz Morrell, M.D.,a German researcher,

inventor and author, alsoproposed an electromagneticsystem to explain how the

body can transmit largeamounts o inormationextremely ast. How muchinormation? Morrell states:In a single cell the amount

o inormation being

transmitted per second isso great that it would takea hundred years to read i it

were printed.4

Science & Vie, a Frenchmagazine reported more evidence or the electrical riverin our bodies. ranslated the article states: White cells

(leukocytes) kill bacteria and pathogenic ungus byelectrocuting them.5 White blood cells are a key immunesystem component. Tis discovery gained urther attention

when a letter, sent by the research team, was published in

Nature, a UK science journal.6

Te next researcher that stood out reminded me o whatI was taught in high school sciencethat the exchange

o sodium and potassium across the cell membranecreates a pump that is an essential unction to sustainlie. A physicist in Greece, Panos Pappas, Ph.D. reminds

us what we are nottaught. Pappas explains that thepump hypothesis is not complete as it does not explainhow the amount o sodium diers rom the amount o

into another. Both a French and a Japanese scientist, LouisKervran and George Ohsawa, proved that sodium can betransmuted into potassium with the addition o oxygen

When describing the transmutation process, tracking howthe body uses electricity,and how the body works to

maintain a balance between

sodium, potassium andother chemical reactions inthe body, Pappas exclaimed,

Lets pause to review why electricity is a key to how the

body unctions. Communication within is instantaneous.Electromagnetic signals are the only way to account or the

astounding speed and number o transactions our bodymust conduct simultaneously. Our bodies are composedo the elements that readily conduct electricity: water,crystal structures and nerves. Research is proving that our

Our bodies, I discovered, have an early-warning

system or disease. Energy medicine recognizesthat inormation is constantly exchanged

Energy elds o coloured light emanating rom the physical

body were rst made visible by a Russian couple, Semyonand Valentina Kirlian, in 1939. While repairing hospital

equipment Semyon noticed electromagnetic vibrationscaught imprints o human energy on lm. Working

with his wie, Kirlian urther developed the technique tocapture the energy elds. Te technique became known as

Kirlian Photography.19 In 1996, Dr. Konstantin Korotkov,another Russian researcher who had met Semyon Kirlianin his later years, developed a more advanced systemacamera with computer sotwareto visually present this

energy or, inormational eld as he calls it, or diagnosticpurposes.

In addition, Dr. Korotkov used his system to measure theenergy elds o champion athletes, individuals involvedin creative pursuits, and those with a spiritual calling. Hediscovered they displayed a more highly balanced energy

eld than usual. He concluded, So this electrical process isnot only health, it is not only well being, it is creativity, it

is attitude to the world.20

Wolgang Ludwig, a contemporary researcher in Germany,compares the energy eld o the body to the seemingly

solid physical body: We have one billion more electronicparticles than mass particles. Our body consists o a lot obiophotons and electromagnetic signals but only a very,very small part o material particles.21

us and between us and the environment. He continues, Isee the bioenergy in the body as being the blueprint or the

physical body.In addition to use as an early warning system, JimmyScott points out that therapies can also be applied atthe subtle energy level or proound eects physically,

emotionally and mentally. He explains, We can deal withphobias usually in a ew minutes. But the academics are

not interested inthat they wont

In EnergyMedicine, DonnaEden describes

is very real despite the act a physical leg, arm or nger ismissing. A war veteran whose oot and leg had been shoto was experiencing such excruciating pain in the missinglimb he was losing his will to live. Eden started working

History of Electro-Medicine

By 1884 it was estimated that 10 000 physicians

in the USA were using electricity every dayfor therapeutic purposes James L. Oschman

History came alive or me when I read that

electric sh were the earliest recorded orm oelectro-medicine. I wondered how many people

over the ages had rejuvenated themselves accidentallyand then deliberately by a run in with an electric eel.Im sure such encounters could have been atal as well.

Te ancient Roman physician, Scribonius Largus, in 46

AD, cured headache and gout by having patients standon a wet electric torpedo sh.26 Dr. Norman Shealy, thedeveloper o ranscutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation(ENS) explains, Intermittently the electric sh was

used or a variety o illnesses until about 1745 whenarticial electricity began to replace the less controlled

natural source.27 By the 19th century electricity wasused extensively in health spas and as part o medicaltreatments.

Te use o electricity or health continued to thrive intothe 20th century. I enjoy a dose o electricity as a result

o this era every time I visit a store on Main Street inDisneyland. wo ree-standing devices rom earlier in thecentury attract me with the headlines: ElectricityTeSilent Physician and Electricity is Lie.

Researcher, Georges Lakhovsky, actually had hospitalcooperation in the eastern United States or his work

with electricity in the early part o the 20th century. Hepublished a book, Te Secret o Lie, in 1935 to describe

the variety o disease conditions that were cleared inhumans, animals and plants with his Multiple Wave

Oscillator. Lakhovsky also concluded the nature o the cellis electrical. Te cell or the essential organic unit in allliving beings, he said, is nothing but an electromagneticresonator, capable o emitting and absorbing radiationso very high requency.28 As medical and pharmaceuticaldominance o the health care system closed in, his research

ended.

Many years later, Robert C. Beck, D.Sc., a distinguished

physicist, brought Lakhovksys Multiple Wave Oscillatorto public attention. His design became known amongthose who continued to research electricity or health asthe Beck antenna. In a paper published in 1963, Beck

reported: Within this multiple-wave range o requencies,every cell in the body can nd its ONE resonant requencyand absorb energy at its own natural wavelength.29

Independent o Lakhovksy, Royal Raymond Rie, was

having phenomenal success in the western U.S.clearingcancer in Caliornia with a bio-electric device. Barry Lynessummarizes his story or us in Te Healing o Cancer: In

association with the University o Southern Caliornia, anumber o clinics used Ries technology to cure terminalcancer during the period 19341938. Some o the leadingresearchers in the country and leading physicians in

Southern Caliornia participated.30 On May 6, 1938 the

Evening ribunein San Diego eatured an article by NewellJones titled, Dread Disease Germs Destroyed by Ray,

Claim o S.D. Scientist. Despite a sub-title that heraldeda new era: Cancer Blow Seen Ater 18-Year oil by Rie

the research came to a sudden end.31 Lynes continues, In

1938, the AMA [American Medical Association] oundout about the Rie cancer cure the entire program wasdestroyed within six months. Rie was hauled into court

and the treatment was eectively quashed.

What gave the AMA such power? Why did research withelectrical health devices have to go underground? In the

U.S. up to the1920s, medicaltraining was

available rom avariety o schoolsoering dieringspecialties including

the use o electricity.Under the guise

o protecting thepublic, the Flexner

Report preparedby Dr. AbrahamFlexner o the

Rockeeller Institute, was commissioned.32 Tis reportrecommended commercial medical schools be closedand that university medical schools adopt a standard

curriculum. Te Flexner Report was nanced by the samepeople who were investing in the edgling pharmaceuticalindustry. It is not surprising, then, that the standardizedcurriculum did not include electro-medicine. Dominance

o the surgical and pharmaceutical approach to health wassoon established.33

Despite peer censure, leading scientists have continuedto pursue electricity or health throughout the twentiethcentury. Bjrn Nordenstrm, a medical doctor in Sweden

was among them. He used electricity or cancer patients.He gained a prestigious reputation as a ormer Chairman

o the Nobel Assembly and the inventor o the needle

biopsy. In 1983 he published a book titled Biological ClosedElectric Circuit Clinical, Experimental, and Teoretical Evidenceor an Additional Circulatory System. He discovered, allliving systems contain numerous unctioning electricalcircuits. Tese circuits exist in all bodily unctions and

determine the well being o the body.

The Body Uses Light and Sound

The saying is, as above so below. We have

light and sound here because they already existin the higher planes. These are veryimportant aspects of God,

sustains us. Its called the Holy Spirit, Prana,the Qi or Chi, the ECK, the Force, and other

Lets start with Heinrich Hertz, a physicist, who discoveredthe photoelectric eect in the 1890s. Tis eect meansthat light interacts with matter to create electricitywhen

light strikes a substance, electrons are discharged. Later,renowned scientist Albert Einstein, proposed that wereceive light as photons. Te photon is both a particle anda wave that travels at the speed o light.

We absorb photons directly rom sunlight and also romplants depending on their health or nutrient content.

Photons rom the sun are absorbed not only through theeyes but also through the skin. Research conrms theexistence and importance o the acupuncture points andmeridians or conducting light to the body. And the

Ph.D., a Germanresearcher, led the

way in biological

photon research.He described aphoton as a process

What about the bodys use o sound? I thought.Remember the universe was created by sound. Very

shortly the scientists will be saying this, Richard Gerber,M.D. reminded us in 1988 with the publication oVibrational Medicine.14 Sound absorbed through the ear orthe skin also produces electricity. We think o sound and

light as separate phenomena but theyre simply the sameelectromagnetic energydetectable at dierent requenciesand wavelengths. Light in requencies above, below and

within the visual spectrum is both absorbed and emitted

by the body. So too is sound both absorbed and emittedrom above, below, and within the audible range. Small

Dr. Fritz Popp, ather o biophoton research, developed asystem to measure whether a ood or substance is toxic or

to what degree a substance is benecial to the cells. Tegreater the capacity o the ood to store light, the greaterits value to our health. As an example, Popp used histesting method to compare eggs raised by two dierent

methods. Free-range eggs are considered superior because
