Its authentic three-dimensional flame and smoke effect is created by lights reflecting against ultra-fine filtered water mist and the illusion is so realistic that you will you find it difficult to distinguish from the real thing. Many also come with a 2kW thermostatically controlled heater just in case you need a quick burst of heat. Endlessly refined over the years it remains the UK’s most popular electric flame effect, as it’s our most cost-effective flame technology. Most Optiflame fires come with a 2kW thermostatically controlled heater just in case you need a quick burst of heat, yet the flame effect also works independently of the heater,* so you can still enjoy that cosy feeling on milder days.

Optiflame 3D offers a new kind of realistic flame effect. For the first time, a 2D effect is given 3D depth, as Optiflame 3D creates the illusion of seeing through the flames to the back of the fire. Optiflame 3D also gives the power of choice over the colour of the flame effect, the flame intensity and the fuel bed. You can add a blue flame to mimic a gas fire or choose a deep orange for a glorious glow. Depending on the time of day, or how you feel, the flame can be adjusted from low to high, or pulsating, plus you can adjust the down lighting to enhance the drama. You can even pick beautiful crystals, realistic logs, coal and pebbles to enrich the luminosity of your own unique fuel bed*. Our patented Optimyst flame effect creates a stunningly realistic illusion of flames and smoke that is almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing.

This fantastic effect is made possible by one key element: the Optimyst glass disk transducer.

The glass disk transducer is the visual heart of our Optimyst range, sitting inside our products and creating the ultra-fine mist that forms a key part of the world’s most realistic flame effect.

How does it work?

The transducer uses ultrasonic technology to create an ultra-fine water mist via a glass/ceramic disk within the transducer which vibrates at high speed. The resultant mist then rises up through the log bed with the aid of a fan in the lower sump and reflects the light from the lamps within the unit, creating an incredibly realistic, three-dimensional illusion of flame and smoke.
