Cardiac Muscle

Cardiac muscle is not as strongly striated as skeletal muscle, but you will see the darker stained intercalated discs, which either will appear dark red or black depending on the slide

your looking at.

Smooth Muscle

No striations for this type of muscle which can be found in the intestines.

As we get closer, we can see the elongated purple Nuclei centered in the cells.
