If you or someone you know meets all the criteria for the Honorary Member-for-Life status, please complete the short application found on our website at www.edcar.org and return to the Association by September 2, 2016.
In order to qualify for this status, a REALTOR® must have been a member of the National Association of REALTORS® for at least 25 years, fifteen of which must be served with the El Dorado County Association of REALTORS®. In addition, the Member must have attained the age of 75.
If approved by the EDCAR Board of Directors and C.A.R., the Member will be granted Honorary Member-for-Life and their local and state dues shall be deemed paid in full for life commencing the year following approval.

Message from the President
Greetings Fellow EDCAR members:
I am writing to you today about something that I am personally
passionate about which is Real Estate and doing our part to help
protect and preserve personal property rights. As I mentioned in my
installation address, I would like to see us put together the largest
attendance of EDCAR members ever at the California Association of
Realtors Legislative Day. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 27th as that is the
day we plan to converge on the State Capitol and show a united front to our elected officials
that we are serious about Real Estate!
I am very excited to share with you that Maury O’Hearn, one of our very own EDCAR
Directors has agreed to head up a task force to help organize this event. Maury will need your
help, so when he calls on you (Realtor or Affiliate), I hope you will just say yes! I recognize
that you are all busy with business but I hope that you will choose to make this a priority and
attend this event.
EDCAR is providing a bus for those who would like to attend. There is no charge. You can
also drive on your own. Either way, please fill out a registration form—on the EDCAR web-
site, www.edcar.org and available at tour. In order to attend Legislative Day or other com-
mittee meetings, you will need a badge to identify you. We can order a pre-printed badge and
reserve a space for you at the Legislative Briefing if you let us know before April 11, 2016
that you wish to attend. Please email [email protected] or call the Association at

Distinguished Service Awards
Every year an EDCAR REALTOR® and an Affiliate are chosen to receive a Distinguished
Service Award; The REALTOR® Citizen of the Year and the Affiliate Citizen of the Year,
The Debbie Amaral Memorial Award. These awards are presented to those Members who
have gone above and beyond the call of duty to give extraordinary service to the
Association and the community. The recipients must have demonstrated a commitment to
EDCAR through recent years of volunteerism and a dedication to the benefit and
well-being of others through dedicated service.
The recipients for 2015 were:

2015 EDCAR Annual Installation Luncheon
In 2015 alone, EDCAR’s Community Outreach Committees and Task Forces have raised over $47,000:
The Honor Our Troops Committee which sends care packages to troops oversees and is now partnering with the American Legion to offer scholarships to returning Veterans from our County raised over $10,000 at the breakfast in January and the Spaghetti Feed in October.
CanTree Charities raised $18,000 in 2015 for the Food Bank, Upper Room and New Morning;
The Annual EDCAR Golf Tournament raised over $20,000 to distribute between CASA, The Center for Violence Free Relationships and the local high school music programs.
