NuformNOVEMBER 2014

Logo and posters for NŪFORM, an event taking place in a black box theatre and bringing together art, music and performance.

The logo is based on the idea of black box, creating a 3D layout with the letters NŪFORM. Since the event was based on the idea of changing the regular format of a party I decided to use a different format for the poster aswell. For the base material I collected old cardboard posters from

around the city which were still white on their flipside. I was able to create two stencil layers with a laser cutter and then use spray paint to paint the posters. The usage of stencils allowed me to create different colored posters with the same layout.

Nuform IIFEBRUARY 2015

Posters for NŪFORM II, a continuation to the previous event and it’s design.

Since I had avoided regular printing for the first series of “NŪFORM” posters, I wanted to keep exploring alternative methods for poster design. This time I tried out silk screen printing at Aalto University, which also gave me the opportunity to familiarise myself

with the school. The design was mostly based around the fact that it was the second NŪFORM. The previous event is displayed as black since it is over, the lights are out and it is merely a shadow for the new event.

AUTOMORPHIC NUMBERAutomorphic number is a number whose square "ends" in the same digits as number

itself.

PrimetimeSPRING 2014Tutor: Epp Õlekõrs

A multiplayer card game based on prime numbers, composite numbers and colors.

There are 25 prime numbers in the range of numbers 1 to 100. The remaining 74 numbers are composite numbers, which can be made as a multiplication of the former prime numbers. Based on this concept, I

created a card game which helps the players to learn more about different number groups. The players have to use their memory and basic math skills to defeat the opponent.

380 - 650 Hz/nmJANUARY 2015Tutor: Paul Kuimet

A video project for the workshop “LOOP”, illustrating change as the only constant.

In order to present our ideas, thoughts or anything creative to someone we have to either pause or finish the ongoing process. This leaves us with a result where the listener is only presented with part of the concept. The creative process itself could go on forever.I visualized this concept with colors and sound. On one screen I have a video of the color spectrum going from 380 nm lightwave length to 650 nm lightwave length and then

back to 380 nm. This is accompanied by a sound of sine wave going from 380 Hz to 650 Hz in the same pace as the colors. This represents the endless lifetime of an idea.On the second screen I have captured myself trying to match the color of the idea, but as soon as I pick out the color it is seen that the first screen is already past that point and in order to keep up I have to start choosing the color again.

The Color ofNOVEMBER 2014Collaboration: LAIVI

A trailer for the upcoming collection of Estonian designer LAIVI.

This trailer was made to be shown at NUFORM as a preview of LAIVI’s next collection. It was also published in “Uus Materjal” (“New Material”) - an art magazine in the form of a 6kg cinderblock filled with

works from different artists. When editing the video the collection’s calm but eclectic mood was taken into consideration as well as the aim to present colors and materials of the collection in progress.

Manifesto of EKA Graphic Design course I.

There were 25 students in 1st year’s course for designing our manifesto. Everyone released their own version of the manifesto while combining the ideas of other students. Icosikaipentagon is a polygon with 25 sides. My manifesto simplified and paired the statements of all the students and after arranging them in the right order

it became a story about the evolution of an idea. Each students’ idea added another side to the polygon, completing the Icosikaipentagon as all 25 ideas are brought together. It displays the characteristics of teamwork and sharing our ideas, in order to create a more diverse and well-rounded shape.
