Page 1: Eighth Sunday After Pentecost August 4, 2019 at Ten Fifty A.M

How can that be lost forever? How when I gave everything with all my heart?Everything I promised them is here. All of us we used to be. We will always have each other. They will always be the fire in my heart. Here I go, and there's no turning back. My great adventure has begun. I may be small, but I've got giant plans to shine as brightly as the sun. Here in all the smallest details of the past. Here in this attic suddenly life is something vast. The four of us forever here at last. As unexpected as can be. Astonishing!

In Christ We LiveIn Christ we live in common bonds of friendship, love and trust. Together we can fully know the cause of Christ is just.In Christ we live and walk within the bounds of grace and peace. We follow as our Lord commands, His love will never cease. In Christ we live to serve the One who came to give us life, we hear the call, respond in faith, bring darkness to the Light. In Christ we live and pray for needs of body, mind, and soul, and trust our God's unchanging love to make the broken whole. In Christ we live to offer hope to all with doubts and fears. In worship, service, prayer, and song we stand throughout the years.

†sending forth Dr. Robert E. LongWe are the Body of Christ and we recognize the beauty that each person has.We are the family of faith connected in our love for God and one another. We are the children of God united by God’s love for all.

ringing of the Bells †hymn 98 TO GOD BE THE GLORY

To God Be the GloryTo God be the glory, great things He hath done! So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, who yielded His life an atonement for sin, and opened the life-gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus the Son, and give Him the glory, great things He hath done.O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, to every believer the promise of God; the vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus the Son, and give Him the glory, great things He hath done.Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, and great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; but purer, and higher, and greater will be our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus the Son, and give Him the glory, great things He hath done.

Faced with the expectation to marry, Jo dreams of a bigger future for herself. She must find her own way to stand out, to be astonishing.

Eric Bradford, conductorAll I need, how I need my sisters here, if I can't share my dreams what were they for?I thought our promise meant that we would never change and never part. I thought together we'd amaze the world! How can I live my dreams or even start when everything has come apart? I thought home was all I'd ever want, my attic all I'd ever need. Now nothing feels the way it was before. And I don't know how to proceed.I only know I'm meant for something more. I've got to know if I can be astonishing. There's a life that I am meant to lead. A life like nothing I have known. I can feel it and it's far from here. I've got to find it on my own.Even now I feel its heat upon my skin: A life of passion that pulls me from within. A life that I am aching to begin. There must be somewhere I can be astonishing. Astonishing.I'll find my way. I'll find it far away. I'll find it in unexpected and unknown. I'll find my life in my own way today.

Here I go, and there's no turning back. My great adventure has begun. I may be small, but I've got giant plans to shine as greatly as the sun. I will blaze until I find my time and place, I will be fearless. Surrendering modesty and grace, I will not disappear without a trace.I'll shout and start a riot. Be anything but quiet. But I refuse to feel tragic, I am aching for more than pain and grief. There has got to be meaning, most of all when a life has been so brief.I have got to learn something. How can I give her any less? I want life to go on. I want days of plenty. You have to believe there is reason for hope. You have to believe that the answer will come. You can't let this defeat you. †old testament lesson Rev. So she set out from the place where she was, with her two daughters-in-law, and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah. But Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each of you to her mother’s house. May the Lord deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me.”And Naomi said, “See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” But Ruth said, “Entreat me not to leave you or to return from following you; for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God; where you die I will die, and there will I be buried.
