There is so much to do and so little time
Makes me feel bad about myself
Continuous balancing left me tired
Some of things that has worked for me
1. Problem of stuff
Managing stuff takes time
You don’t own stuff
Stuff owns you
Stopped accumulating them
GadgetsBooks I would never read againGiga bytes of moviesFurniture and itemsClothes I would never fit in
Place for two things
UsefulBeautiful
Don’t own/keep something because I would use it someday
Get it the day you would need it
Simplify your life
2. Information overload
New TV
Also, there is just too much knowledge out there
There always was
Its just easily accessible now
Identified people who acts as filters
Won’t take their names
Follow their tweets, blogs
... a man perfects himself by work more than by reading, ...
3. Multi tasking is a myth
CarromFoosball
TTInteresting conversations
Laptops in meetingTwo laptops when pairing
Partial Attention Disorder
another name for not doing anything well
Multi tasking
Conscious brain doesn’t multi-task
One task at a time
Worry about why am I in this meeting before the meeting
4. Guilt of sleep
If I cut down my sleep for 2 hours I have 2 hours extra
Not true, if you care about quality of what you do in that time
Its not how much you sleep
Its what you do when you are awake
5. Stop starting and start finishing
Close some doors
Yes its heart breaking
You are also your own customer
The joy of finishing 1 is much higher than having 10 in progress
6. Engage your conscious mind
I love podcasts
Because you can listen to them when you are using your sub-conscious brain
Walking your dogDriving the car
Waiting for doctorShopping for grocery
7. Importance of flow
Bliss of leisure and Joy of work
There is difference between fun, pleasure and happiness
