Medical technology is one of the most exciting and important high-tech industries in the Bavarian economy. Fascinating and complex technical solutions face the highest demands in terms of safety and reliability. Bavarian companies take on a high level of responsibility: with their innovative products, they contribute to high-quality and efficient healthcare.

Bavaria is in an excellent position in this sector: a broad corporate landscape from start-ups to global corporations, universities with international standing and the highest level of healthcare. This gives us an excellent basis in Bavaria to continue boosting growth and employment with a high degree of innovation. As the Bavarian State Government, we support this successful development with targeted and sustainable measures.

The current challenges in medical technology require a professional and agile approach. A constant exchange is extremely important. In close cooperation between research and industry, the opportuni-ties arising from technology and future trends such as artificial intelligence, robotics or digitalization can be utilized.

With the MedTech Summit Congress & Partnering and the trade fair MedtecLIVE, we have created one of the most important European networking meetings of the medical technology and healthcare industry in Bavaria. This year newly developed content and orientation will further fuel cooperation and innovation. I cordially invite you to Nuremberg from 31 March to 2 April 2020 to actively help shape the successful future of the healthcare economy and medical technology in Bavaria!

Hubert Aiwanger, MdLBavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy

Deputy Bavarian Prime Minister

Prof. Dr. Thomas Armin SchildhauerChairman of the Executive Committee Forum MedTech Pharma e.V.

Healthcare is currently undergoing a far-reaching transformation process. It is undisputed that digital innovation is profoundly changing both, care models and technical approaches. In this context there is discussion, how artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation really contribute to a better care – and where these technologies have limits. How will digital approaches in medical imaging and surgery shape the future? What relevance do these changes have for research, medical device industry, and clinical practice? Listen to expert opinions on these issues and exchange your experience with specialists at MedTech Summit 2020.

The challenges facing the medical device industry are also subject of discussion at the congress: increa-sing regulatory requirements, infrastructural challenges and efficiency demands in manufacturing. Solu-tions such as digital clinical trials, mobile tools, and additive manufacturing methods will be discussed.

For the first time, the MedTech Summit will be embedded in the MedtecLIVE trade fair in 2020. This enables the fusion of technological and market-relevant innovation trends with real-life application sce-narios. In addition, the established networking format ”MedTech Summit Partnering” offers the opportu-nity for in-depth exchanges with pre-selected partners in arranged meetings.

Come to Nuremberg from 31 March to 2 April and be involved when the future of medicine is shaped!

Meet international partners and cooperating network organisations.
