Elsinore FC Student Athlete - Parent Agreement Tiger Soccer

Philosophy: This team is a family. Each member of this family is important and is a key role to our suc-cess. Each member of this family reflects and represents not only themselves, but the team as a whole, their families, the coaching staff, Elsinore High School and the community. With this in mind, the main priority is to maintain a high standard for one another and to represent all involved well. We will do this by maintaining a culture of honor, love, dignity and respect. Each member involved is expected to pursue passionately, lead with example and play with intensity, heart and passion. We will not only demonstrate this on the field, but also off of it by being a model members to our community.

To establish these core values and to best succeed in this family, each member is expected to follow these guidelines:

Core Values: Character, Leadership, Attitude, Academics & Work Ethic

Appearance-

Dressing Expectations : All members will dress out in designated area (whether in locker, soccer or team room) and out of view of public. Designated area will and should be considered insecure and each member is respon-sible for his personal belongings and equipment. All are expected to dress out in proper equipment, regardless of weather, in season, or out of season. Forgetting equipment (practice shirt, cleats, running shoes, socks, etc.) is inexcusable.

Practice Attire : All members are expected to wear practice uniforms (jersey and shorts) provided for the sea-son. Shinguards, socks and proper shoes (cleats or running shoes are expected always.) If practice uni-form is not available white shirts will be accepted, along with black shorts.

Game Attire : All members are expected to dress with polos & jeans to school on game days. We want to look good and represent ourselves with as much professionalism, we want to reflect who we are on and off the field (model student-athletes.) Be aware of special instructions with jerseys and shorts (typically hand dried.)

Game and Transportation Conduct: You are not only reflecting yourself, but who we are as a team and school. All members are ex-pected to behave with respect, maturity and sportsmanship. You are to respect any one whom you come in contact with this includes, but does not limit to: fellow team members, coaches (yours or opposing schools), referees, bus drivers, admins, other student-athletes etc … All members are to cary them-selves in a proper manner and will not be involved in any activity that lack the core values of this family (fights, lack of control i.e. throwing equipment, taking shirt-off, walking off field, yelling obscenities), this will result in game suspensions and will be determined case by case. All members will ride to games with team and will return home with team (unless proper paper work has been signed & player has notified Coach Andrés Otañez.)

School Conduct: As a student-athlete (acknowledging that the ‘student’ portion is priority) you are expected to be in class and to reflect the teams core values. You are to be a model on and off the field (this includes the classroom, library, office, etc.) Positive and negative notifications from any staff regarding your be-havior will be addressed properly. To be truant is to agree to games suspensions. All members of Elsi-nore FC are expected to not only be present to all classes, but also expected to be on time. All members are hold to a higher standard and are to avoid ‘trouble’ on campus. Any alcohol or drug use will be ad-dressed properly and will be grounds for expulsion from the team.

Out of School Conduct: With previously stated school conduct, students are to refrain from any activities out side of school that will reflect poorly Elsinore FC, the coaching staff and school in general. All members are called to represent their team on and off the field, this also means Facebook, twitter, Instagram etc. (College Coaches don’t want poor quality athletes.) Yes, you have a personal life so live it well. Repre-sent your team, coaches, families, and school well.

Participation-

Injuries: Injured players are required to be present (and to watch and learn) at all team functions. An injury is not an excuse to not learn and grow. Doctor’s notes are required for any excusable reason. Player with an injury is not allowed to wrap himself and participate in any team function. If you are hurt, you are hurt; you will not participate if wearing any brace, band etc.

Practice: Improvement is what we seek after at each practice. This is a time and place to develop your skills and or knowledge of the game. Learn to run with your successes and to grow from your weak-nesses. Whenever you enter the field (actual pitch or bleachers, track. weight room etc.) know you are there to get better, this is not a time to socialize and play around (there will be moments to goof off) but keep in mind that every moments is a benefit or a disadvantage. All members are expected to partici-pate a minimum of 100% to their abilities. Each member will see the results he wants to see, you will benefit from all actives (how much is up to you.) Game Time: Each minute will be earned. No player is guaranteed game time or participation at the match. All players will be monitored and will be held accountable for their performance during trainings, practices, sessions and or games. Each Head Coach is solely responsible for players game time. Players who demonstrate their abilities and character on and off the field will make it easier for the coach to decide their game time. Work ethic, performance, academics, behavior will be some areas coaches will be looking for when considering game time. If you want to play, prove to your coach you are able to handle the field. Game time is a privilege and it will an honor to step on the field and reflect and repre-sent the team. All members are expected to be enthused and excited, regardless of their minutes of the field.

Team Structure : Aiming for excellence, the team structure is set up to have those members who have demon-strated their best efforts, character and abilities on and off the field. This will create a inner motivation amongst each member to be their best always, knowing there is someone else willing to take their spot.

Friendly competition will benefit each member and will be a fire underneath them to always show up with heart, intensity and passion. Players can and will be moved up and down a level of play.

Attendance- Tardiness : You are expected to be present and on time to all meetings, practices, trainings, bus-trips, games and any other soccer related event. If a practice is to start at 3pm, meaning you will be dressed, ready to start at 3pm. Tardiness is no tolerable and each member will need to make up time. *Sixth Period: Will be a primarily be a study hall, unless otherwise advised. *Practices and Games : TBD (Case by case)

Absenteeism : In a culture of honor we value each members presence and expect all present at all soccer related events. Work, dentist and or doctor appointments are to be done on days that do not interfere with practices, trainings, games etc … All members are expected to handle these matters at another set time. Understanding situations there will be exceptions, but those will be handled and de-termined ahead of time with each levels head coach.

Unexcused: Does not exist. (i.e. Communication)

Discipline/ Concerns/ Parents-

Discipline Policies:

All members of Elsinore FC (The Tiger Soccer Program) are held to a higher standard of disci-pline than your peers. Being part of the Tiger Soccer Family you are required to commit to a level of discipline both on an off the field. First of it is a privilege to be a part of this family; you became a part of something bigger than yourself, you can also be removed from something bigger than yourself. All members reflect and represent equally our program, the faculty, staff, administration and peers. Mi-nor issues will be delegated to head coaches of each level, more serious issues will be handled by the head coach. As we are building an elite program and want to maintain a reputation as a program of quality young men, we are a family do not and will not associate with certain behaviors. Poor choices can be avoided. * Drugs and Alcohol: Any member found under the influence will be dismissed from the team. Proper authorities will be notified. * Smoking: Any member found smoking will be grounds of suspension with head coaches determination of length of time and will be grounds for dismissal from team. * Repeated Offenses: absenteeism, tardiness, foul language, poor classroom behavior will be dealt with demotions, loss of game time, suspensions of individual games and will also be grounds of dismissal from team.

Parents: Parents are more than welcome to come out and support Elsinore FC. By this they are acknowl-edging that they are not coaches, but rather spectators. Parents are here to support their student. You are an example for you student to follow. How to Approach a Concern: Step 1: Player Meets with his position coach. Step 2: Player meets with the head coach and his level coach. Step 3: Head coach and other (JV or Frosh) coach hold meeting with player and parent.

Step 4: Head coach and other (JV or Frosh) coach, AD hold meeting with player and parent.

Culture of Honor-

Communication: All members are solely responsible for communicating with their level head coach. Having an-other member communicate for you is not acceptable, if you are to be tardy and or absent, step up and let your coach know. Communication is a key to success. All member are expected to respect their teams and coaches and communication is a way of doing just that.

Team Building: All members are expected to participate in all activities that are meant for team building. i.e School and Field Clean Up, carrying for team members equipment, etc … These ‘community service’ actives are meant to inspire and build a pride for their school, team mates etc … As a program not only focusing on athletic success, but also the character of each student we believe as a family unit will ac-complish so much more by honoring and by taking care of our campus and of each other.

Finances/Varsity Letters-

Fundraising: All members are encouraged to participate in fundraising actives for their team. The goal for our fundraising is to purchase bags, warm-ups, coaching equipment and any other ‘tools’ the program would benefit from.

Lettering: To be acknowledge as a full member of The Tiger Soccer Program and to receive a varsity letter, members must be on the Varsity roster the entire season and or appear in at least half of the league contents as a team member of the Varsity team. It is a high reward and privilege to participate in a sport at Elsinore and even a higher reward and privilege to earn a Varsity Letter in a sport. Your effort and character will determine if you earn a Varsity letter or not.

As Head Coach to the Boys Tiger Soccer Program (Elsinore FC) it is a honor to welcome you on board. A high price you have paid (and will continue pay) to be apart of this elite group of young men and I applaud you for that. You are committing to be challenged, pushed and stretched throughout this season. You are about to embark on a journey with a team whom is willing to do the impossible to reach the unattainable. All your efforts and energy will not go to waste, we will properly channel them to reap a great reward. For the laborer if due his rightful wages. I believe with this team we have formed, and alongside your coaches we will see and obtain that which we desire. Dreams are real, just wake up and do something about them. It is a season to pursue with passion and to go all in or nothing. With a great risk, comes a greater reward.
