Hiram is a coeducational liberal arts college of 1,300 students located in the historicWestern Reserve region of Ohio. Hiram is a nationally respected institution thatoffers students a distinct learning environment with an emphasis on close student-faculty interactions, international study experiences, and experiential learningenvironments.

Hiram College offers merit-based scholarships to international applicants. For on-campus residents,scholarships range up to a maximum of $21,000 per year. For commuter students, they range up toa maximum of $16,000 per year. OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY PROVOST INTERNATIONALSCHOLARSHIPS

Oregon State University welcomes a diverse student body of nearly25,000 students from across Oregon, all 50 states and more than 100countries. Oregon State University is offering The Provost International Scholarship to exceptional internationalfirst-year and transfer students. GEORGIA COLLEGE MERIT-AND NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Georgia College offers numerous programs of study to talented andmotivated students in a residential college setting. Its academicallyengaging, student-centered programs often take learning beyond the traditional classroom anddevelop the intellectual, professional, and civic skills and dispositions that enable graduates to thrivein an information-intensive and diverse global society.

Georgia College offers international student scholarships to students based upon extracurricularinvolvement, academic excellence and financial need. This award grants either a half waiver or fullwaiver for out-of-state tuition fees and ranges in the amount of amount $20,000 to $40,000 over thecourse of four years. ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY DAVID MCHUGH SCHOLARSHIPSFOR EXERCISE SCIENCE AND RELATED STUDIES

KELLOGG INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES FELLOWSHIPS

The Helen Kellogg Institute for International Studies brings the best ofinterdisciplinary inquiry to bear on research themes relevant to contemporarysocieties around the world, especially democracy and human development.Drawing faculty fellows from across the University, students, and visitingscholars, the Institute promotes research, provides exceptional educational opportunities forstudents, and builds linkages to support the University’s strategic goals on internationalization. TheKellogg Institute creates a space where those interested in international affairs can engage—withone another and with issues crucial to human society. Known for its regional focus on LatinAmerica, the Institute has in recent years widened its scope to include Africa, Asia, and beyond.

The Kellogg institute is offering fellowships to scholars and practitioners who conduct internationalresearch on themes of democracy and/or human development. Applicants may come from anycountry and typically fall into three groups: promising junior and midcareer scholars (typicallypostdocs and assistant or associate professors), distinguished senior scholars with an establishedrecord of scholarly excellence, accomplished policy makers, journalists, and other practitionerswhose knowledge and experience can link policy and scholarship. NORTHWESTERN MICHIGAN COLLEGE GOES GLOBAL

Northwestern Michigan College President, Timothy J. Nelson, hasannounced an on-going fundraiser called the Global Opportunities Fund toensure their students are prepared for success in a global economy and society. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN STAGECRAFTINSTITUTE PROGRAM

Agnes Nakakawa, a 32-year-old mother and sound designer from Uganda, believes there is a way,through theater, to help her people. In June, she came to Stagecraft Institute in Las Vegas, anonprofit, hoping to gain inspiration and information, two things she can immediately share with herpeople. REGIS COLLEGE STUDENTS RECEIVE IPADS

All students and faculty at Regis College in Weston, Mass., will get iPadswhen the fall semester begins, the latest in a growing number ofeducational institutions to take the digital leap to tablets. “It’s veryengaging to have multimedia capabilities in the classroom,” said Marla Botelho, chief informationofficer at Regis. “People learn in different ways.” Though the iPad will not entirely replace textbooks,that’s the direction the college plans to go in, Botelho said.
