Presentation Description

• The presentation deals with the issue of implementing the premises of the Bologna Declaration in Poland. First, the main aims of the Bologna Declaration are discussed as well as the so-called Bologna Process. Then, the actions that were undertaken in Poland after the 1999, when the declaration was signed, are presented. The next part of the presentation consists of charts presenting the results of implementing the Erasmus programme in Poland and its results, namely the increased mobility of Polish students. Finally, the Bologna process in Ukraine is mentioned. The presentation ends with the discussion part that touches upon issues connected with the implementation of the Bologna Declaration in Ukraine.

The Bologna DeclarationThe Bologna Declaration was signed on the

19th of June 1999 and it introduced:Two main cycles of studies

( undergraduate, graduate)system of common credits – ECTS

(European credit transfer system)European cooperation in quality assuranceCommon framework of reference of easily

readable and comparable degrees

The Bologna processEuropean integration in the field of higher education focuses on harmonising

educational systems in the so-called Bologna process.

• The main objectives of implementing the Bologna Declaration are:

Creating conditions for students and teachers’ mobility

Adjusting the educational system to current situation on labour market

Improving the shape and competitive position of the higher education systems in Europe
