TWIN SISTERS BRIELLE AND KYRIE WERE BORN 7 WEEKS

PREMATURE

On October 17, 1995, Brielle weighed only two pounds at birth. While Kyrie, three ounces heavier but much stronger, thrived, Brielle's breathing and heart rate were poor and nothing the doctors at The Medical Center of Central Massachusetts-Memorial tried seemed to make any difference.

Defying the hospital rules, the attending nurse placed the weaker infant to the crib of the stronger one. The moment child was
