    EDUC 932Excitingcourse!Course Description

    An introduction to the appropriateuse of media methods and creativetechniques that improve classroomcommunication. Familiarizationwith available instructionalmultimedia and its properutilization will be stressed.Emphasis also on organizationaldevelopment and analyzing effective

    presentation strategies. There areopportunities, when appropriate, foron-site production experiences.

    Goals & Objectives

    Students will demonstrate theirmedia literacy by planning for anddemonstrating the sound use of

    instructional technologies for theirclassrooms.

    Students will enhance theirinstructional skills by preparing tointegrate technology in theirclassrooms in meaningful ways.

    Students will explore presentationoptions that use a variety ofmultimedia, including availablesoftware and Web 2.0 tools.

    Students will develop assessmentsand work samples for variousmultimedia projects.

    Students will explore ways toenhance communication through theuse of technology.

    Students will demonstrateunderstanding of copyright lawsand follow them.

    Students will complete allassignments digitally.

    Students will use Web 2.0 tools forcollaboration and reflection.

    Students will gain an

    understanding of the InternationalSociety for Technology inEducations standards for studentsand teachers http://www.iste.org/standards.

    Students will begin creating adigital reputation for themselvesthat demonstrates professionalism.

    Grading and Assignments

    Grading is based on the Framingham State University grading scale of A-F. In this course grades aredetermined by your effort and on your understanding of various concepts as demonstrated throughevaluations and application activities and projects.

    IC - Incomplete (May be given ONLY if 80% of the required coursework has been completed).

    Attendance is required.

    3. All students are required to have a blog for this course. This blog can be a blog that you have alreadycreated for another course, or a blog you use professionally. Turn in the blog URL in Schoology.

    (Look for the Blog URL Turn In assignment.) Recommendations for blog hosting are on the Bloggingpage in the Schoology course. You are not allowed to do your blogging within Schoology.
