Long Range Technology Plan

• The Texas Long Range Technology plan supports education in preparing each student in a classroom for success and productivity as a lifetime learner of technology. This plan stresses the importance of teachers accessing and incorporating technology, attending quality professional development, and making time to engage students in technology.

Expectations of Teachers

• Students must acquire information, solve problems, and communicate with technology. Teachers should move from Early/Developing technology on STaR Chart to Advance/Target Tech levels. Students should engage in real world learning experiences with access to digital tools at school. Schools should work toward dynamic, diverse learning communities.

Teaching and Learning

• The area of Teaching and Learning must be to empower students to live and learn in the twenty-first century technology world. Teaching and Learning ensures student access to technology-based learning. It supports teachers with online resources to share lessons, monitor student progress, and establish regular communication with parents and students..
