After you have clicked on "Register for E-Commerce" on the European homepage of PlasticsPortal (1), select your registration form either as a BASF customer (2a) or as a new BASF customer (2b).

General information

There are two different registration forms: one for BASF customers and one for new customers. As a BASF customer you provide company and user-specific details (pages A and B). As a new customer of BASF you will also be asked to provide information about material requirements and the delivery address (pages C and D).

The registration form consists of several pages. Each page must be signed by a member of staff at your company who is authorised to sign (this will generally be the Head of Purchasing).

All fields of the registration form marked with * must be completed. It is then up to you whether you complete the remaining fields.

After you have completed the registration form, send it via e-mail to the respective E-Support:

Registration, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (1)

1. Registration

After you have sent the completed registration form via e-mail to the respective E-Support, your users will be registered for the PlasticsPortal (time required for registration process is approx. 1 week).

After registration users will receive their user name (User-ID) and password via e-mail.

2. Terms of Use

The special features of the electronic sales channel are covered by our Terms of Use. Together with our General Conditions of Sale it represents the legal framework for the transactions handled via the PlasticsPortal.

The Terms of Use and the General Conditions of Sale are available for perusal and can be downloaded in the registered area of the PlasticsPortal under “Legal Information”.

3. Privacy Policy

To use the registered section of PlasticsPortal every user must accept the Privacy Policy of BASF once*: After the user name/password has been entered on the regional homepage, a window will open with the Privacy Policy. The user accepts electronically by clicking on the button "Yes, I accept this Privacy Policy" at the end of the page. If the user clicks on the button "Cancel", a window will open with an e-mail-form which can be used to send a query regarding the Privacy Policy to BASF, if desired.

Once the user has accepted the Privacy Policy, he can access the welcome page within the registered area of PlasticsPortal. If the user does not accept the Privacy Policy, he is not able to use the registered area.

* Due to legal requirements concerning data protection BASF is obliged to obtain the consent of each portal user for the storage of his data. However, the system only saves the data which the user has already given to BASF on completion of the registration form, e.g. user name, company name, company address and telephone number.

Do I have to pay attention to upper and lower-case letters when entering my user name and password?

No.

Can I change my password online?Yes, if you have logged on with your user name and password, you can change your password under the menu item “Services and Support” > “Change password". We recommend changing your password as soon as you receive it.

What happens if I forget my password?On the right side of PlasticsPortal start page there is a item called “Forgot your password”. Please click on this item and follow the instructions.

Can a company have more than one user name?Every customer representative in direct contact with BASF will be given a user name and password on request. This means that in one company there may be several independent users with access to BASF's online services. All of these users have their own user name and password.

Can I place orders via the BASF PlasticsPortal anywhere in the world?

As a registered customer you can enter your orders all over the world if you have access to the Internet.

Can I place orders for consignees abroad within Europe (e.g. as a German customer for an Italian consignee)?

Yes, provided that the orders are placed for the country in which they are invoiced.

Can I buy the same product in different packagings via the PlasticsPortal?

This is possible at any time as long as standard products and standard packagings are concerned.

When and how do I receive an order confirmation after placing anorder via the PlasticsPortal?

We will send you an acknowledgement of receipt of order by e-mail within 24 hours. This includes a BASF order number. If you have completed a relevant agreement with us, you will receive an order confirmation with a BASF order number by post or e-mail in addition to your acknowledgement of receipt of order.
