Water Treatment Systems

Filtration Systems

A water softener reduces the Total Hardness from feed water i.e. dissolved calcium and

magnesium salts presence in feed water. These "hardness ions" cause undesired effects like

forming scales to the surfaces of pipes and heat exchanger surfaces which turns into

ineffective heat transfer. The water to be treated passes through a bed of the resin. The

resins initially contain univalent sodium ions, which exchange with divalent calcium and

magnesium ions in the water due to adsorption process.

(FRP) with consistency in flow, flexibility in resin quantities based on Output to ensure ease in operation.

Softener Systems

Demineralizer Plant (DM Plant) or Deionization Plant (DI Plant) incorporates the

principles of ion exchange to produce mineral free water. D M Plant consists of

one or more ion exchange resin columns, which include a strong acid cation unit

and a strong base anion unit with addition of Degasser for removal of Bi Carbonic

Acid from De Cationized water. The Strongly Acidic Cation Resin exchanges

hydrogen ions with cations presence in raw water and Strongly Basic Anion Resin

exchanges hydroxyl ions with anions in the De Cationized water. Demineralization is the process by which total

dissolved solids present in water are removed to attain Zero Ions effectively.

ELECTRO DEIONIZERS (EDI): Electro Deionization is a water treatment technology that has

gained popular acceptance because the process does not use chemical treatments. In such

a system, there are no moving parts. Water is passed between a positive electrode and a

negative electrode. Semi permeable ion-exchange membranes

separate the positive and negative ions, delivering deionized water. EDI is a polishing

technology and requires reverse osmosis (RO) as pretreatment. The combination of RO-EDI provides the customer

with a continuous, chemical-free system. Electro deionization systems typically have a life cycle of more than five

years. The lifecycle of the system can be prolonged based on the pretreated water quality.
