Planning a day out with the family can feel like preparingfor a military campaign. You load up with all kinds of kit,and keep your fingers crossed that your chosen destinationwill provide what you can’t carry.

This guide aims to make life easier for you. By exploringthe pubs listed in these pages, you can be sure of a happyfamily lunch or drinks with friends, safe in the knowledgethat each one has passed the Hampshire TourismPartnership’s ‘family friendly’ test.

We have visited pubs across the Hampshire countrysidelooking for those which give a real welcome to children. We’ve rated parking, high chairs, entertainments, gardens, menus and baby changing facilities. And out of all thosethat we visited, we have chosen those which we thinkpromise the best all-around experience.

They won’t all provide organic baby food or free nappiesor a basket of toys. But they do all offer welcomingtouches which mean that you can relax and enjoy yourself. And as far as possible, we have selected pubs near a touristattraction or activity in case you want to make a day of it.

Look out for more seasonal information and new pubs onwww.eatoutgetabout.co.uk
