The Parish Budget for Fiscal Year 2014 (7/1/13 - 6/30/14) is based on the giving of our faith family for Fiscal Year 2013. The portion of our budget contributed in envelopes, checks and loose cash is $1,727.640.00 or $32,597.00 per week. Contributions for the 41st weekend of the fiscal year were $36,723.00. In the 41st week of our fiscal year, our budgeted goal for ministry programs and ordinary operating expense is $1,336,476.00 and our collections are $1,411,164.00. We encourage everyone to prayerfully consider using the Capital Improvement Envelope in your packet to help recover the renovation of St. Bakhita Hall.
May God bless you in your sacrificial giving. Lord, help me move from comfort to sacrifice.
How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good He has done for me? (Psalm 116:12)

EASTER SUNDAY
Christ is Risen as He said, alleluia, alleluia! Today, the greatest Christian feast of
the year, we give God thanks for the victory of Jesus over sin and death itself. De-
spite all the nay sayers and the anti-God activists, we know that the early Christian
witnesses did not give their lives for a fable or a fabrication. No, they held on to
their witness of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ even unto their own deaths. Let us too be witnesses to the
grace and power of Jesus’ resurrection in our own day as Jesus triumphs over sin and death in our own lives.
May you and yours experience the joy of the Risen Lord throughout this blessed season of Easter. St. Paul in
Philippians 4:4 reminds us to, “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice!”
MOVIES ON MATTERS OF FAITH
It is refreshing to see that Hollywood is coming out with some films which defend faith and
God. The first is a film based on a true story entitled, “God’s Not Dead.” In this film a young
college freshman enrolls in a philosophy class in which the professor demands that all the stu-
dents write and sign their names saying that “God is dead.” Only one student refuses and the
film is about his defense of God in that class and all that is involved in standing up for one’s
faith. The second film is entitled, “Heaven is for Real” after the book by the same name. This is
about a near death experience of a young boy who goes to heaven and brings back amazing ac-
counts of his encounters with family members there. I recommend both films to lift your spirits in this Easter
season and to encourage you in your own faith walk from time to eternity.
DIVINE MERCY
Remember that we continue the Novena to Divine Mercy this Easter Week, leading up to
the Feast of Divine Mercy next Sunday. Please continue to pray the novena prayers and
the chaplet of Divine Mercy through the week and then join us for the Holy Hour from
2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Divine Mercy Sunday. We will be united with
Pope Francis as he canonizes Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II, who approved of St.
Faustina’s revelations on Divine Mercy and gave us the Feast of Mercy. God will grant
great graces on this Feast of Mercy.
PRAYER TO THE GLORIFIED LORD
Jesus, who did confound all your enemies by clothing in glory and splendor that body which
had been the victim of the cruelty of man, give me grace to die to myself that I may rise
again with You, and after your likeness lead a new, divine, immortal life: new by change of
conduct, divine by the generosity and purity of my love, immortal by perseverance in well
doing. Work in my heart, O Lord, this happy change; make me pass from death to life, from
darkness to light, from a life full of imperfections to a life worthy of You. Make me go from light to light, from
virtue to virtue, till I come at last to You, O God of virtue, source of all life and all light. Amen.

“At the Lamb’s High Feast We Sing Praise to Our Victorious King...” THANK YOU to all our
Liturgical Ministers (Altar Servers, Cantors, Choir Members, Communion Ministers, Greeters,
Lectors) who gave so generously of their time to prepare and participate in the beautiful litur-
gies of Triduum and Easter! A special word of thanks go to all who helped decorate on Holy
Saturday. As we enter into the Easter season, let us remember that each Sunday is a “little
Easter”, and that each Mass is a celebration of the Paschal Mystery.
“Christ is risen as he said, Alleluia!”
Please keep the sick and homebound of our parish in your prayers.
